What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Weapon skill grants Essence Drain to unit and nearby allies at the start of each turn, inflicts Atk/Res penalties onto foe, deals bonus damage to foe and reduces incoming damage to unit based on number of bonus effects on unit, and grants a Special cooldown jumping effect before unit's first attack. |
Might: 14 Range: 2 Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). At start of turn, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk+6 and 【Essence Drain】 to unit and allies within 2 spaces of unit for 1 turn. At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, inflicts Atk/Res-6 on foe, inflicts penalty on foe's Atk/Res = 20% of unit's Res at start of combat, deals damage = number of 【Bonus】 effects active on unit × 5 (excluding stat bonuses; max 25; excluding area-of-effect Specials), and reduces damage by value = number of 【Bonus】 effects active on unit × 3 (excluding stat bonuses; max 15; excluding area-of-effect Specials), and also, if unit's attack can trigger unit's Special, grants Special cooldown count-X to unit before unit's first attack during combat (X = number of 【Bonus】 effects active on unit; excluding stat bonuses; max 3). 【Essence Drain】 After combat, if unit attacked, grants any 【Bonus】 effects active on target and foes within 2 spaces of target to unit and allies with the Essence Drain effect, and neutralizes any 【Bonus】 active on target and foes within 2 spaces of target (excluding Bonus effects being granted at the same time). After combat, if foe was defeated in combat, restores 10 HP to unit and allies with the Essence Drain effect. |
Cooldown Count = 4 Boosts damage dealt by 80% of unit’s Res. |
Unit can counterattack regardless of foe's range. Grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+X to unit during combat (X = highest bonus on each stat between unit and allies within 2 spaces of unit; calculates each stat bonus independently). |
Deals +5 damage when Special triggers. If Special triggers, neutralizes "reduces damage by X%" effects from non-Special skills (excluding area-of-effect Specials). If Special triggers before or during combat, grants Special cooldown count-2 after combat. |
At start of turn, if unit is within 2 spaces of an ally, grants Def/Res+6 and the following status to unit for 1 turn: "Unit can move to a space adjacent to any ally within 2 spaces." If unit is within 2 spaces of an ally, grants Def/Res+3 to unit during combat. |

◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Fallen Nergal are +Atk and -Spd. Atk is a superboon and improves Fallen Nergal's damage output, increasing the chances for knockouts which lead to 【Essence Drain】 providing sustain to multiple allies.
Spd is a clear dump stat and is a safe bane to take.
We recommend +Atk when merging Fallen Nergal up to +10 to maximize his damage output as much as possible.

Aether
|
This build uses premium skills to make Nergal as tanky as possible. Laguz Friend and Emblem Ike provide additional damage reduction that stacks on top of Ereshkigal and Guard Echo provides a Guard effect to slow down enemy Specials. The Special skipping effects of Ereshkigal and Laguz Friend allow Aether to charge up quickly and provide both damage and sustain.

Fallen Nergal's base kit is already potent enough to serve as both a nuke and a tank unit. The Bonus Doubler Sacred Seal stacks with C Bonus Doubler, and is worth running to improve overall performance.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Fallen Nergal is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Res stat.
Fallen Nergal's exclusive tome Ereshkigal grants Atk+6 and 【Essence Drain】 to Nergal and allies within 2 spaces at the start of each turn.
【Essence Drain】 is a unique status effect. It takes the bonus effects of the affected unit's foe and applies them to all allies with the 【Essence Drain】 status effect, while neutralizing those bonuses on the target foe and nearby foes, essentially stealing those bonuses. Additionally, if the foe in combat is defeated, all allies with the 【Essence Drain】 status effect are healed for 10 HP.
Ereshkigal also helps Fallen Nergal in combat. It inflicts Atk/Res-6 onto his foe, inflicts an additional Atk/Res penalty onto the foe based on 20% of Nergal's Res, grants bonus damage based on the number of non-stat 【Bonus】 effects active on Nergal × 5 (max 25), and grants flat damage reduction equal to non-stat【Bonus】 effects active on Nergal × 3 (max 15).
Ereshkigal also grants Special cooldown count -X to Nergal before his first attack during combat, where X is the number of non-stat 【Bonus】 effects active on Nergal (max 3). This effect allows Nergal to quickly charge up his Special skill and burst down his foe with ease.
Fallen Nergal's Spd stat is quite low at base 16. With no way to prevent follow-up attacks, Fallen Nergal will most likely receive follow-up attacks from his foes.
He will be reliant on his damage reduction effect to withstand enemy attacks.
