What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Weapon skill is accelerates Special trigger, is effective against armored units, nullifies weapons that are effective against armored units, inflicts debuffs on enemy units during combat, and also prevents enemy units from making follow-up attacks. |
Might: 16 Range: 1 Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). Effective against armored foes. Neutralizes "effective against armored" bonuses. If unit is within 3 spaces of an ally, inflicts Atk/Spd/Def/Res-5 on foe during combat, neutralizes penalties on unit during combat, and foe cannot make a follow-up attack. If foe's Range = 2, calculates damage using the lower of foe's Def or Res. |
Cooldown Count = 3 Boosts damage dealt by 50% of unit’s Def. |
If foe initiates combat, grants. Atk/Def +6 during combat and inflicts Special cooldown charge -1 on foe per attack. (Only highest value applied. Does not stack.) |
If unit's HP ≥ 25% and foe initiates combat, neutralizes bonuses (from skills like Fortify, Rally, etc.) on foe during combat and unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack. |
If a foe uses sword, lance, axe, breath, or beast damage & initiates combat against an ally with 2 spaces of unit, triggers【Savior】on unit. If Savior triggers, grants Def/Res+4 during combat. 【Savior】 Unit takes ally’s space, enters combat in ally’s place, and receives all after-combat effects. Doesn't trigger if ally is on terrain that unit can't move to or if multiple units are able to use Savior during the same combat. If Savior triggers, after-combat movement effects don't occur. |

◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
Ascended Idunn's best IVs are +Def/-Spd. A defense boon increases her bulk, keeping her Near Save skill active throughout more engagements.
A +Res IV is also good on Idunn in order to opt for more generalized bulk. It is also a superboon.
Her Spd is in the awkward area where she is faster than the slow metagame units, but slower than the speedy metagame units. Thus, it is safe to take as a bane, as it shouldn't affect most of her matchups.
For a fully invested Ascended Idunn with +10 merges and +5 dragonflowers, a +Def IV works well for similar reasons above. Same with +Res to balance out her overall bulk.
A +Spd IV also works if you can complete the speedy build. This option allows Ascended Idunn to minimize follow-up attacks from opponents who can negate her follow-up denial effect.
The speedy build is also listed below in the builds section!
As an Ascended Hero, Idunn can ascend one of her stats for free without using an Ascendant Floret! We recommend +Def or +Res, whichever IV you did not take.

This is a Near Save build for Ascended Idunn. Her base kit is good enough as it is, just add an assist and a sacred seal. We opted for Steady Breath for Special acceleration to active Bonfire after every attack.

This is a Far Save build, opting to use Ascended Idunn to cover allies from ranged attacks instead. Hardy Fighter 3 ensures Ascended Idunn survives even against the biggest nukes, while the Distant Counter (D) Sacred Seal allows her to counterattack against ranged foes.

This build uses Dragon Wall to provide damage reduction and increase Ascended Idunn's overall bulk. Quick Riposte grants the follow-up attack on enemy phase that she lost from dropping Wily Fighter. This build does lack Special acceleration, so a support unit like Summer Hilda would greatly improve Idunn's combat prowess.

This build aims to stack as much Spd onto Ascended Idunn as possible, with the aid of a Spd superboon. Savvy Fighter uses her upgraded Spd to reduce incoming damage.
Only use this build if you will fully invest onto Ascended Idunn with merges and dragonflowers. Without sufficient investment, this build will be inferior to the generic tank builds.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Ascended Idunn is a non-ranged (Range = 1) magic attacker. Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Res stat.
Ascended Idunn melts the Sword Knight with her Dew Dragonstone and Bonfire!
Dew Dragonstone is a very powerful weapon which is very similar to the infamous refined Maltet of the menace known as Brave Hector.
Listed below are all of its effects:
1 | Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count -1). |
---|---|
2 | Effective against armored foes. |
3 | Neutralizes "effective against armored" bonuses. |
4 | Inflicts Atk/Spd/Def/Res-5 on foe during combat, if Ascended Idunn is within 3 spaces of an ally. |
5 | Neutralizes penalties on Ascended Idunn during combat, if Ascended Idunn is within 3 spaces of an ally. |
6 | Foe cannot make a follow-up attack, if Ascended Idunn is within 3 spaces of an ally. |
7 | Calculates damage using the lower of foe's Def or Res, if foe's Range = 2. |
Similar to Brave Hector's refined Maltet, Dew Dragonstone has the following effects:
One notable effect that is present on refined Maltet but absent on Dew Dragonstone is the guaranteed follow-up attack. However, this effect is present on Ascended Idunn's B skill, Wily Fighter 3.
Dew Dragonstone also has effects that are not given by refined Maltet. It is effective against armored foes, and it applies magic damage to melee foes and adaptive damage to ranged foes.
Take note, however, that Dew Dragonstone only neutralizes armor effectiveness. it does not neutralize dragon effectiveness.
Ascended Idunn comes with three passive skills: Sturdy Stance 3, D/R Near Save 3, and a newly released skill - Wily Fighter 3.
Sturdy Stance 3 grants Idunn Atk/Def+6 during combat and applies a Guard effect to the foe.
D/R Near Save 3 grants Idunn Def/Res+4 during combat and allows her to intercept melee attacks made towards allies within 2 spaces of her.
During enemy phase, if Idunn's HP ≥ 25%, Wily Fighter 3 neutralizes her foe's bonuses during combat and grants Idunn a guaranteed follow-up attack.
Ascended Idunn's Spd stat is in the awkward range where she is faster than slow metagame units, but slower than fast metagame units.
This can affect her defensively through receiving follow-up attacks from heroes with partial or full Null Follow-Up effects.
This can also affect her offensively if the opponent has Spd based damage reduction from skills like Spurn 3.
However, Idunn's Spd is a superboon, and it is possible to stack enough Spd to mitigate her weaknesses.
See the Speed Build above to find out how to best equip your Ascended Idunn for this purpose!
Ascended Idunn takes 1.5x damage from dragon-effective weapons like Thrasir's Ífingr or Legendary Julia's Virtuous Naga, and one blow from this type of weapon is sure to inflict heavy damage onto Ascended Idunn, or outright kill her. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
Heroes with Effective Skills
Corrin (M) | Valentine's Henriette | Micaiah | Guinivere |
New Year Peony | Ascended Fjorm | Elimine | Valentine's Robin (F) |
Ascended Idunn works well with Far Save armored units to pair with her own Near Save prowess and cover all bases.
Ascended Fjorm is our recommendation, as she is a fast unit compared to Idunn being in the mid-speed tier, and she deals physical damage while Idunn deals magical or adaptive damage.
Valentine's Henriette and Valentine's Robin (F) are no slouches either; they will get the job done.
Additionally, these suggestions help color coverage since all of them are non-blue units.
Ranged tank units also work well with Ascended Idunn in modes like Aether Raids, as she can utilize her Near Save to protect them from melee attacks.
Micaiah and Guinivere are among the best ones to use here, as they can deal with the abundant ranged cavalry units in that mode.
Ascended Idunn, just like Brave Hector, performs significantly better when provided utility and support.
Corrin (M) is a red unit that can help deal with bulky green units that Idunn has trouble eliminating. He also provides Atk/Spd/Def/Res invisible bonuses depending on distance between Idunn and himself, increasing her overall bulk and offense!
New Year Peony is a refresher unit that can grant Idunn an extra action. Additionally, Peony also provides Atk+6 if the cardinal row/column condition is met, and she provides the Orders buff to Idunn upon refreshing her turn, granting her improved mobility!
Elimine can provide damage reduction, healing, and extra bulk all at once, while providing 【False Start】 utility for the team using her Staff of the Saint. In return, Idunn can be a solid frontline unit and use Near Save to protect her from melee attacks.
Summer Hilda provides healing, Atk+6, and Special cooldown acceleration using her Sunshade Staff. Idunn can safely drop Steady Breath and use a different sacred seal if fielded together with Summer Hilda.
Naga | Legendary Julia | Thrasir | Deirdre |
Bridal Catria | Halloween Rhea | Ninja Corrin (F) | Halloween Robin (F) |
Ascended Idunn's Dew Dragonstone only negates her armor weakness; it does not negate her dragon weakness.
Thus, hard hitting non-red units that have effective against dragons weapons such as Thrasir, Deirdre, Julia, and Legendary Julia can all put a very heavy dent in Idunn's armor.
Thrasir, Deirdre, and Julia are green and have color advantage, while Legendary Julia has Light and Dark which disables adaptive damage, forcing Idunn to attack her higher Res stat.
Red units with effective against dragons weapons such as Brave Marth may have trouble eiliminating Idunn in one round due to the color disadvantage. Success will depend on the level of investment each unit has.
Naga also has a dragon-effective weapon in Divine Breath, but more importantly, she has a unique C skill. Divine Fang, which grants the effective against dragons buff to adjacent allies.
This allows any unit to deal significant damage to Idunn, or even defeat her outright!
Bridal Catria can provide the Triangle Attack buff to nearby allies though her Wedding-Bell Axe, allowing them to attack twice and force their way through Idunn's bulk.
She was also present in a Hero Fest banner, making her a common enemy to face!
Ninja Corrin (F) is a hard hitting fast unit that attack twice through the effect of Ninjutsu Scrolls. It also has a bonus damage effect which is calculated through Spd, which Corrin has an abundance of and Idunn is lacking in.
The consecutive attacks may outright eliminate Idunn if Corrin is sufficiently invested. Be very careful when she is present on the enemy team.
Ascended Idunn may also have trouble dealing with non-armored melee units with a high Res stat. Two examples we provided are Halloween Rhea and Halloween Robin (F).
Windsweep 3 is more common in the metagame due to the prevalence of powerful sword, lance, or axe units with savior skills such as Brave Hector, Valentine's Gustav, Valentine's Lucina, and many more.
While Watersweep 3 is more niche compared to its counterpart, the release of Ascended Idunn may be the push it needs to be more common in the metagame.
It can also deal with other magical savior units such as Valentine's Henriette, Valentine's Robin (F), and Halloween Robin (M)!

Ascended Idunn has three very valuable skills to provide for skill inheritance: Sturdy Stance 3, Wily Fighter 3, and D/R Near Save 3.
As of February 2022, Wily Fighter 3 is unique to Ascended Idunn. Both D/R Near Save 3 and Sturdy Stance 3 can be obtained from other heroes.
Ascended Idunn is a very powerful unit; think carefully before you decide to fodder her off.

Just pulled her from the weekly ticket from arena, so came to see what y'all thought about her. There's no way she should have the same rating as bridal sharena. I know they're different types of units, but take even Marni (who is an armor unit, but of a different weapon & color). There's no way they should be rated the same, IMO. Maybe it's just in regards to her specific color, movement type & weapon? 🤷🏼♂️ Still hard to justify, IMO.
