When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

Neutral IVs by default!

As a hero obtainable only through Grand Hero Battle, Kempf will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.

+Spd/-HP

The best IVs for Kempf are +Spd and -HP. A higher Spd stat allows Kempf to get a ton of follow-up attacks on his foes. More importantly as a bulky unit, it also protects him from hostile follow-up attacks. HisHP is of less importance and thus safe to be taken as a bane.

+Spd for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Spd IV when merging Kempf to 10. This is for the same reasons as above. With this IV, he can reach 40 Spd at max meges. At that range, he can nail follow-up attacks on most folks if he is supported by allied buffs.

How to Use, Explanation

A higher budget build for Kempf that aims to make him a pest against Aether Raiders. His main task in AR-D is to land a good Venin Edge hit on the enemy team. Upon doing so, not only does he deal damage, but he also inflicts an effect preventing counterattacks from his primary target and all foes within 2 spaces of them. This effect gets applied even if he doesn't survive, but if he does survive, he can serve as a beacon for allies with Wings of Mercy.

How to Use, Explanation

This is a budget build for Kempf that makes use of his base kit. It makes him tanky, and it adds to his AoE damage by getting a second Savage Blow 3 in the Sacred Seal slot.

How to Use, Explanation

This is a very powerful build for Kempf as Galeforce and potential refreshes from allies will allow him to deal lots of AoE damage in a single phase! Heavy Blade 3 Sacred Seal is used to make activating Galeforce easier. If you do not have it or if you are using it on another unit in the same map, you can go for Atk/Spd Solo 3 Sacred Seal or another Savage Blow 3 on the Seal slot.

Refined Venin Edge can now inflict 【Discord】on enemies which debuffs enemies based on nearby allies. It also buffs Kempf's stats by 4 and allows him to get damage reduction of 30% on combat.

Kempf is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Kempf's Strengths

Can Deal Area Damage and Prevent Counterattacks

Kempf can inflict a total of 17 damage to enemies 2 spaces around his target using a combination of Venin Edge and Savage Blow. In addition to to the 10 units of fixed damage to Kempf's primary target, Venin Edge and prevents counterattacks from all those that are hit.

Balanced Stat Spread

With Kempf having both Venin Ege and Fortress Res, he has a good mix of both offensive and defensive ability regardless of his enemies. His playstyle is also straightforward making him very beginner-friendly.

Obtain through a Grand Hero Battle

Kempf is a Hero who, for a limited time, can be obtained through completing a Grand Hero Battle for the first time. They do not appear in regular summons. After the event has ended, they can be obtained by using Heroic Grails.
