When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

+Atk/-Res

The best IVs for Gerik are +Atk and -Res. With the use of Darting Blow 4, Gerik reaches 45 Spd which is enough to score follow-up attacks on a wide range of foes. Thus, taking a +Atk would be more effective in boosting his offensive power. His Res is of less importance so it is safe to take as a bane.

+Atk for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Gerik to 10. This is for the same reason as above. Increasing Gerik's Atk is the best way to make sure he always deals the most damage. If you plan to take out Darting Blow 4 for another skill that does not boost his Spd, you can consider getting a +Spd IV.

How to Use, Explanation

Refined Desert-Tiger Axe and Infantry Pulse provide support to all allies with lower HP than Gerik, while Sudden Panic 3 debuffs enemies with lower HP. G Duel Infantry 4 and Squad Ace BS 3 provide the most stats while boosting HP at the same time.

Gerik is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Gerik Strengths

Prevents Counterattacks with Firesweep Axe+

Firesweep Axe+ makes Gerik a formidable player phase unit as it prevents enemies from scoring counterattacks against him. Combined with his high Spd and Darting Blow 4, he can eliminate a wide range of units in the player phase without taking damage. The downside to this is that he too can not score counterattacks on enemies. This is not too crippling as with awareness and strategy, you can turn Gerik into a player phase attacker that can easily sweep enemy teams.

Can convert the bonuses of foes into penalties

Gerik's default B skill Sudden Panic makes it so that foes who are adjacent to another foe and have less HP than Gerik will have their bonuses converted into penalties. This will effectively shut down enemy buff skills like Fortify/Hone, and since it will also eliminate the threat of Blade weapons, it can throw a wrench into an enemy party's main strategy.

Speeds up the special cooldown of allied infantry

The C skill Infantry Pulse will reduce the cooldown count of infantry units at the start of the first turn. This will work on all allies whose HP is lower than Gerik's, and it stacks with other similar skills, meaning it can be paired with Heavy Blade or Breaker weapons.

Low Res

Gerik's Res only sits at 18 at Lv.40. This makes it easy for magic users to take him out. Be mindful of Gerik's positioning in relation to magical units that can easily take him out.
