When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Gerik are +Atk and -Res. With the use of Darting Blow 4, Gerik reaches 45 Spd which is enough to score follow-up attacks on a wide range of foes. Thus, taking a +Atk would be more effective in boosting his offensive power. His Res is of less importance so it is safe to take as a bane.
We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Gerik to 10. This is for the same reason as above. Increasing Gerik's Atk is the best way to make sure he always deals the most damage. If you plan to take out Darting Blow 4 for another skill that does not boost his Spd, you can consider getting a +Spd IV.

The new Desert-Tiger Axe now allows Gerik to take on a supporter role that can provide several buffs to all his allies. Notably, his new signature weapon can provide special cooldown charges and Atk/Spd+6 to all alies while removing all penalties on combats.

Gerik is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Gerik's exclusive weapon Desert-Tiger Axe, when refined, has an Infantry Pulse effect and grants Atk/Spd+6, neutralizes unit's penalties during combat,
and 【Null Panic】 to Gerik and allies with HP < Gerik's HP.
In combat, refined Desert-Tiger Axe grants Gerik Atk/Spd/Def/Res+8, additional Atk/Spd/Def/Res bonuses equal to the highest bonuses on each stat among Gerik and allies within 3 spaces, 30% damage reduction on foe's first attack, and a null Guard effect.
The in-combat bonuses are decent, but the bulk of refined Desert-Tiger Axe's power is on the start-of-turn effects providing great support for Gerik's allies.
Gerik's Res only sits at 18 at Lv.40. This makes it easy for magic users to take him out. Be mindful of Gerik's positioning in relation to magical units that can easily take him out.

I finally got this hero myself from the free anniversary tickets. I'm surprised there aren't better builds here, cuz I've seen tons of people use this guy in AR offense teams (in my defense replays). I may want to build him, but i was hoping to find some current builds here to help me decide. I guess I'll have to look in summoner duels favored heroes.
