When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

+Spd/-Def

The best IVs for Lucius are +Spd and -Def. A higher Spd stat allows Lucius to prevent follow-up attacks against him increasing his survivability. This is great for his team because Lucius' presence as a support is very important. Lucius has amazing Res, but mediocre Def. Take a Def bane as it is not worth it to try and increase this stat. Lucius is built for tanking magic attacks, even from fast units, so maxmize his Res as much as possible.

How to Use, Explanation

A simple AoE-damage Gravity+ set for Lucius. Make sure to get the Dazzling Staff upgrade on his staff. This is crucial to not get taken out by counterattacks when placing attacks. If you can't afford Atk/Res Bond 3, settle for anything that improves primarily his damage, then his survivability. If you prefer, you can also just run the default Pain+ on him. He sacrfices the ability to kite for more AoE chip damage.

How to Use, Explanation

Fear+ reduces the damage the enemy team can deal. So in a way, it increases not only his durability, but his allies' durability as well. Get the Wrathful Staff upgrade for Fear+ so that you can deal lots of damage when engaging. Quick Riposte 3 allows him to deal more damage in the enemy phase and thanks to A,C, S slots on top of Fear+, he can tank lots of damage. Miracle is a no-brainer as staff users can't use offensive Specials! It grants him more surivability, which is very important for units that aim to tank.

Lucius is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Res stat.

Lucius Strengths

Weapon skill deals fixed damage to several foes

Lucius' weapon skill Pain+ will deal 10 damage to foes, regardless of their Def and Res. In addition, it will deal fixed damage to nearby foes as well, so you can increase the amount by inheriting Savage Blow. This skill is also super useful for weakening foes when you are trying to level up another unit.

Very high Res!

As mentioned in the IV section, Lucius has an extremley high Res stat. He sports 40 Res at Lv.40! This is his base stat so it can be improved even further. Use Lucius knowing that he can probably take at least 2 hits from an enemy unit.

Lucius Weaknesses

Very low Def

As mentioned in the IV section, Lucius has an extremely low Def stat. This makes him very vulnerable even against less powerful physical units. Please be mindful of his positioning in relation to units that can make quick work of him.
