The best IVs for Virion are +Atk and -Res. A +Atk IV helps him maximizes the damage he deals. As discussed below, his Res stat is pretty much useless so you would not lose much if you would take a bane on it.

How to Use, Explanation

This is a super premium build for Virion. Budget builds for Virion just won't work anymore as he is a very old unit. For him to be worth deploying, you should have him on tons of investment. This build focuses on making him a ball of stats by getting his spec. eff. refine, Fury 4 which also activates Desperation 3, and two Atk/Spd tools to secure the follow-up attack. If you want to run him in the Arena, you can also go for C Duel Infantry 4. This build is very effective because not only does it increase Virion's stats, but it also severely lowers foe's stats too!

We recommend the Special Effect Refine for Dignified Bow

Virion has very high HP which makes both the normal effect and the special refinement effect very easy to trigger. This makes this special refinement effect a must get if you will be using Virion in the long run. If you are not confident with the amount of HP Virion has to trigger this effect, you can equip Sacred Seals like HP +5 onto him.

Virion is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Virion Strengths

Bow unit with high HP

Virion's high HP allows him to take more attacks especially from physical units. It also makes him less susceptible to the effects of Panic Ploy 3 and Fire Boost 3 from enemies. This also means he can easily take advantage of these skills' effects if you choose to inherit in onto him!

This also synergizes well with Dignified Bow as the bow's effect requires Virion to have greater HP over his foes. Go to the refinement section to learn more about Dignified Bow!

Can inflict a large penalty on foes' Spd

The B Skill Seal Spd 3 will allow Virion to inflict Spd-7 on a foe after combat. This means Virion can initiate combat to lower the Spd of a foe and weaken them, then another ally can hop in with two attacks for an easy kill.

Virion will also be able to take advantage of this with a refresher-assist ally as by the time his second attack, Seal Spd 3 has already been inflicted.

Virion Weaknesses

Low Res and makes his A skill irrelevant

Virion's Res is extremely low and only sits at 13 at Lv.40. This makes it easy for magic users to take him out. Be mindful of Virion's positioning in relation to magical units that can easily take him out.

This pretty much makes Defiant Res 3 useless. If he is at Defiant range, he will only have 20 Res which makes him still pretty to take out especially at that HP range.

Unless Virion - Elite Archer is a favorite character of yours or you have excess Hero Feathers to spare, we recommend you pass on Unlocking their Potential.

Virion can be used to inherit the skill Astra. However, there are only a few hero builds where Astra will fit right in. Most of the times, other skills do the job better. This means that most of the time, Virion is better off as a merge project or as a source of feathers by sending him home.
