◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Kaze are +Spd and -HP. A higher Spd stat allows Kaze to deal with less follow-up attacks from foes, and score follow-up attacks of his own. This improves both his offensive and defensive capabilities. His Def is a superbane and his Res is very important for him because of his special, Iceberg so the best bane you can take for Kaze is HP.

Because of Kaze's decent Res stat, he is usually built as a mage check. His Def is really low, so be wary when engaging with physical units. To capitalize on his Res stat, take Distant Def 3 in the A and S slots, and get Atk Ploy 3 in the C slot. Cancel Affinity 3 is in the B slot to counter Raven tomes, but if you do not run into those often, get Quick Riposte 3 or Guard 3 instead. The reason why Kitty Paddle+ is listed over his default Barb Shuriken+ is that the former grants eff. dmg against magic foes. Since it is a rare skill, you can settle for the latter and just get a refine either +Spd or +Res.

This build maximized Kaze's Spd to reliably trigger his Kaze's Needle's effect multiple times per combat. A low cooldown Special is used to support this build.

SP: 400 | |
Might: 14 Range: 2 HP: Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). If unit initiates combat or is within 2 spaces of an ally, grants Atk/Spd/Res+4 to unit during combat. Effect:【Dagger 7】 At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk/Spd/Res+4 to unit during combat, and also, if unit's Spd > foe's Spd, grants Special cooldown charge +1 and deals +5 damage per unit's attack, including when dealing damage with a Special triggered before combat. (Only highest value applied. Does not stack.) :500 :200 |

Kaze has a new learnable weapon in the form of Kaze's Needle.
The refined version of this weapon gives Kaze Atk/Spd/Res+4 during combat, will help him trigger his Special faster if his Spd is higher, and also allows him to deal more damage.
We recommend getting this refine as it gives Kaze more offensive power, making him capable of one-shotting enemies due to having his Special trigger more often.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Kaze is a ranged physical attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Kaze's Needle possesses the standard effect of dagger weapons inflicting debuffs after combat.
It also inflicts -7 Def/Res on target unit and all foes within 2 spaces of target and accelerates Kaze's special trigger by 1 counter.
This means that Iceberg will only have a cooldown of 2. This allows for consistent special activations that greatly increase Kaze's damage.
The refined version of this weapon further increases Kaze's offenses, as it gives him Atk/Spd/Res+4 and Special cooldown charge+1 per attack if his Spd is higher.
This potentially places Iceberg on a cooldown of 1 and will allow him to trigger it every combat.
Poison Strike 3 deals 10 fixed damage to Kaze's target after combat. Since Kaze can also inflict debuffs by attacking, he makes it really easy for his allies to take out the enemies that he has weakened.
Take note that damage from Poison Strike 3 is not lethal. This is why Kaze needs another ally to finish up those whom he has weakened.
Iceberg, Kaze's special, has a long cooldown but it hits very hard as it adds 50% of Kaze's Res to his damage. This it fitting for him since he already has high Res levels. This means that you can stack a ton of Res into Kaze, building his bulk, but also be able to dish out tons of damage!
As discussed, Barb Shuriken+ puts Iceberg's special cooldown into a fair 2 counters!
Kaze's Res only sits at 17 at Lv.40. This makes it easy for physical units to take him out. Be mindful of Kaze's positioning in relation to physical units that can easily take him out.
Also be careful of physical units that can hit Kaze with a counterattack!
