When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

+Atk/-Def

The best IVs for Kagero are +Atk and -Def. A +Atk IV combined with her refined weapon allows her to one-shot a wide range of foes. Her Def is of less importance to her and it is safe for her to take it as a bane.

+Atk for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Kagero to 10. This is for the same reasons a above. Whether you are using the Poison Dagger+ or Kagero's Dart this is the IV to go with!

Since the former has a 1.5x damage multiplier against infantry units, getting Atk would mean considerably higher damage, and since the latter depends on an Atk check against the foe, getting said IV is the most helpful.

How to Use, Explanation

An AoE support build that focuses on spreading AoE debuffs and damage to an area. When running this build, Kagero would only be the support, and allies are supposed to rush in to finish the opposing team off after Kagero has debuffed them.

How to Use, Explanation

Quite a balanced build that can be run in Aether Raids offense. You can swap out skills for similar skills depending on your needs. This build in specific carries the ability to counter dragons as Kagero has a naturally high Res stat. Though this build can tank physical attacks too.

We recommend the Special Effect Refine for Kagero's Dart. It reduces the damage from the opponent's first attack by 50% if Kagero initiates combat. It already boosts your Spd pre-refinement, making Kagero less susceptible to follow-up attacks. These effects combined make Kagero deceptively durable in the player phase. Because of the added survivability, Kagero can apply more debuffs and take down more enemies with the help of her teammates.

Kagero is a ranged physical attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Kagero Strengths

Infantry-Effective Weapon

Poison Dagger+ is effective on infantry units. This makes Kagero a great matchup for many units as there are lots of infantry units in the game and she does not have triangle disadvantage to any units because of her colorless attribute.

Buff to Res if Attacked

Warding Blow 3 grants +6 Res to Kagero if she is attacked by an enemy. She already has decent Res and she possesses a damage reduction ability in her refined weapon. This makes her a great matchup against most magic users, as they are also mostly weak to physical damage.

Guaranteed Follow-up Attack on Dagger Units

If Kagero's HP ≥ 50% and enemy is a dagger user, she makes a guaranteed follow-up attack and her enemy cannot make follow-up attacks. One of the common strengths of dagger users is their speed. Daggerbreaker 3 completely neutralizes this, and as most dagger users are frail, Kagero has a high chance of taking them out.

Powerful alternative to Poison Dagger+ in Kagero's Dart

Kagero's prf weapon is Kagero's Dart. It is not effective against infantry units, but what it lacks in that department makes up for its raw power. It has 14 Mt versus Poison Dagger+'s 5 Mt, has a more powerful and adaptive debuff.

It also has access to a very handy, very scaleable, defensive Special Effect Refine which you can read more about in the Weapon Refine section.

Kagero Weaknesses

Weak Against Cavalry, Flying and Armored Units

Kagero's weapon is only strong against infantry units, and her firepower may be somewhat lacking when it comes to dealing with other units. Her best bet when facing non-infantry units is to debuff them and have another ally to finish them off.

Weak to Raven Weapons

Kagero may have high Res and damage reduction, but she has low HP, and she is weak against raven-type weapons such as Gronnraven+. If raven users have Triangle Adept 3 equipped, she will surely be taken out. Be mindful of what kind of skills your foes are equipped with and adjust Kagero's positioning accordingly.
