During the Wing Ceremony, Instructor Owlan remarks that the Knight Academy is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
This is a reference to how the series was also celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2011, which was the original game's release date.
After acquiring the Clawshots, you can enter Zelda's room in the Knight Academy. You need to climb on top of the building and use the Clawshots to grapple the target on the chimney to enter the room.

Zelda's Journal |
You can also find additional secrets inside Zelda's room. These include a Tingle doll on a desk, a portrait of Zelda and Gaebora, and Zelda's journal that you can read by sitting on the chair.
If you enter the chimney leading to Zelda's room at night, toggle first-person view and look down to find Gaepora taking a bath below.
Gaepora: Character Profile and Story Information
While you usually use the Empty Bottle to keep bottle items, you can use the Bug Net as an alternate method to catch Fairies. Note that you still need an Empty Bottle to keep them, however.
This gameplay mechanic first appeared in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. In that game, you use the Bug Net to catch bees and fairies to put them into Empty Bottles.

Map Location |
On the left of the Goddess Statue area in Skyloft, you can find a target on the wall that you can grapple using the Clawshots.
Use the Clawshots to climb over the wall and jump over to the other side. On the flower field, you can find five Remlits that will follow you around in the area.
Glittering Spores can be obtained after using an Empty Bottle scoop up the shiny spores from the mushrooms in Faron Woods.
The spores have various effects and can be used five times. Using the spores at a heart turns it into a fairy, changes the value of a Rupee, stuns enemies and bugs, as well as make Gossip Stones shrink.
How to Get the Glittering Spores
If you play the Goddess's Harp near a Remlit, it will sit in front of you and meow to the sound of the harp.
Sitting on a stool next to a character will activate a unique dialogue that provides information on certain characters. For example, sitting on the stool in the Sealed Grounds gives you extra dialogue from The Old One.
If you sit down on a stool for too long, Link will start to slowly fall asleep.
Stool Locations: Where to Find Stools
While skydiving, you may find flying squirrel-like creatures that will appear near Pumpkin Landing. If you gathered all ten of them in a circle before landing, you will receive a Red Rupee (20 Rupees) as a reward.
How to Get Rupees (Money) Quickly
In the Thrill Digger area in Eldin Volcano, you can find Rupee Ores that you can use the Slingshot to obtain Rupees.
Rupoors also spawn from these ores, so be sure to only aim at the green and blue ores!
Using the Gust Bellows on people causes them to shield themselves from the wind. One exception is Mallara, who has a different reaction when using the weapon towards her.
The final puzzle inside the Lanayru Mining Facility involves hitting three red crystals based on the patterns that appear on a wall opposite of it.
The number sequence, 2-3-1, is the same puzzle solution used to open the door leading to the Gohma boss in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Lanayru Mining Facility Walkthrough
If you head outside Pipit's house at night after completing Mallara's side quest, you will hear the two arguing on paying someone with the money Pipit earned to clean the house.
Despite this, you can still talk to Mallara and clean the house for 20 Rupees.
Cleaning Pipit's House Walkthrough
Inside the house in Skipper's Retreat are a series of photos hanging on the wall. One of these includes an Ancient robot carrying another similar to the iconic scene from the 1997 film, Titanic.
If you use the Goddess's Harp near a swarm of Blessed Butterflies, a Sheikah Stone will rise from the ground along with a treasure chest as a reward.
The statues also react to different actions. Shooting it with an arrow allows you to get Green Rupees, slashing it with a sword makes it sway, using the Gust Bellows or Glittering Spore makes them shrink, and using a bomb causes them to fly away.
Sheikah Stone Locations and List of Treasures
Link will have a different idle animation if he is inside the Fire Sanctuary. Instead of looking around and stretching his arms, he will repeatedly wipe his forehead.
If you hold down the ZL button to target a character and press Down on the D-Pad, Fi will provide a short description of the character being targeted.
In some cases, the description changes if you are targeting a character that is involved in a side quest or part of the main story.
List of Characters and Voice Actors
At night, if you go to the Waterfall Cave east of Skyloft you can find a swarm of Blessed Butterflies flying around near the cave. The butterflies only appear after completing The Goddess's Silent Realm trial.
If you play the Goddess's Harp, you can summon the Moonlight Merchant. Unlike the other Sheikah Stones, this statue does not have a treasure chest upon discovery and instead sells you rare treasures.
How to Find the Moonlight Merchant
If you keep visiting Beedle's shop without purchasing anything, he will eventually get angry and release a trap door as you leave the shop.
You can find cupboards inside houses or at the rooms in the Knight Academy. If you open one, the game will tell you that you shouldn't open other people's cupboards without permission.
While they do not serve any purpose, one particular cupboard inside Zelda's room contains a Piece of Heart.
You can find a picture of Link's face on a punching bag in Groose's room at the Knight Academy.
Groose: Character Profile and Story Information
Several characters such as Yerbal and the Parella say the line: "It's a secret to everybody". This is a quote found in the original Zelda game that has become famous and is reused in other Zelda games.
If Link decides to show affection towards Peatrice at the end of her side quest, Fi will comment that he is interested to her and that he should not mention it the next time he encounters Zelda.
Peatrice's Side Quest Walkthrough
One side quest in Skyward Sword HD gives you the choice to deliver Cawlin's letter to Karane or to the ghost in the bathroom at the Knight Academy.
If you deliver the letter to the ghost, you can find its floating hand as it asks for a piece of paper. This is similar to the character known as ??? who also asks for paper in previous Zelda games.
The Haunted Restroom Walkthrough
You can find Batreaux at the restaurant area of the Bazaar during the day after you have collected all 80 Gratitude Crystals.
At night, you can find him next to a Remlit on a bridge leading to the houses east of Skyloft.
How to Get All Gratitude Crystals and Rewards
When meeting Lanayru for the first time, he assigns Link the model number, LD-Link-16, similar to the ancient robots.
The "LD" indicates that the robots came from Lanayru Desert while the number sixteen is a reference to the original game as the sixteenth Zelda game released.
After the Goddess Statue falls down to the Sealed Grounds near the end of the game, look at the ceiling to see decorative elements that bear striking resemblance to the Chamber of Sages from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
During the second phase of Demise's fight, you can use the Bug Net to deflect Demise's sword beam attack.
In addition, you can also use the Bug Net to temporarily distract him. This is similar to how you can also distract Ganondorf with a Fishing Net in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
Demise (Demon Lord) Boss Guide
You can press and hold the A Button and swing the right Joy-Con, or the right thumbstick for button-only controls, to play the Goddess's Harp during the game's end credits sequence.

The bug net trick goes way back to A Link to the Past. It's an SNES Easter egg.
