After you have reached the Isle of Songs inside the Thunderhead and fixed Scrapper, head to Fun Fun Island and talk to Dodoh to start the side quest.
Use the Dowsing ability to find the party wheel at the southern part of the Lanayru Desert. After retrieving the wheel, return to Dodoh to complete the side quest and unlock the minigame.
How to Find Dodoh's Party Wheel
After accepting to play the minigame, you will be launched into the air and fall towards the spinning wheel.
Landing on a certain tile determines the number of Rupees that you can obtain. Tiles with a higher value, such as the Pink and Blue tile, are narrower compared to the Blue tile.
See the table below to learn the color of each tiles and their corresponding Rupee value.
Rupee Tile | Rupee Value |
---|---|
Pink and Blue | 50 Rupees |
Red | 20 Rupees |
Blue | 5 Rupees |
Green | 1 Rupees |
Brown | 0 Rupees |
Black | -10 Rupees (Unaffected by multiplier) |
Fortune Ring (left) and a Dodoh Ball
While free-falling, two objects will appear in the sky. The Fortune Ring allows to you gain multipliers when passing through them, increasing the number of Rupees you earn after landing on the wheel.
In addition, passing through these rings will slow down the wheel, allowing you to land on the tile easily.
If you hit the Dodoh Ball, you will lose all the multipliers that you have collected. Be sure to move around based on the location of the Fortune Rings.
It is recommended to use button-only controls when playing Skydiving Roulette. Using it allows you to make precise movements while free-falling, making it easier to land on a specific Rupee tile.
Using the motion controls may cause unintentional movements while free-falling, making the minigame more difficult.
HD Controls Guide: How to Use Button and Motion Controls
After passing through a Fortune Ring and avoiding Dodoh Balls, be sure to move to the center as much as possible.
Returning to the center makes it easier to check the location of the next Fortune Ring and Dodoh Balls, and check the rotation of the wheel.
After passing through the last ring, note the location of the tile you want to land on the wheel. You can press the Home button to pause the minigame at this time.
The tiles usually move at approximately 3/4 in a counter-clockwise position, meaning if the Pink and Blue tile is at the 11:00 position, it will usually move at the 4:00 position once you land on the wheel. Avoid diving as you may fall too fast and land on the wrong tile.
If there is a specific tile you want to land on, position yourself ahead of the direction of the rotation to easily land on the square.
The most effective way to land on a tile is to watch the speed of the wheel and align yourself with the tile before landing.
The wheel's edges have a wider space compared to the inner area of each tile, so be sure to aim for that area to increase the chances of landing on a specific tile.
You will receive a Piece of Heart, along with 500 Rupees, as a first time reward after landing on the Pink and Blue tile with a 10x multiplier.
Heart Piece Locations: How to Get All Pieces of Heart In Order
Skydiving Roulette rewards you with Rupees although the amount depends on whether you have passed through the Fortune Rings and which tile you landed.
The table belows shows the base value of the Rupees you earn on each specific tile. Note that the gray tile is unaffected by the multiplier and will always deduct 10 Rupees from your wallet.
