Inside the Lumpy Pumpkin is a Piece of Heart found on top of a chandelier. To obtain this heart piece, head up to the second floor and roll into the wall repeatedly to make the chandelier crash down.
After the cutscene, head down to the ground floor and pick up the Piece of Heart next to the table.

| How to Get | Talk to Pumm after breaking the chandelier to start the sidequest. Complete the sidequest to obtain the Piece of Heart. | |
After breaking the chandelier in the Lumpy Pumpkin, talk to Pumm and he will ask you to do some tasks to pay for a new one.
The first task requires you to use an Empty Bottle and fill it with Hot Pumpkin Soup. Take the bottle of soup to Eagus at the Sparring Hall at Skyloft.
For the second task, you need to carry a stack of pumpkins on the Pumpkin Landing's storage area without dropping any of them.
For the third and last task, play the Goddess's Harp to an audience at the Lumpy Pumpkin at night. You need to strum the harp based on the audience's movements.
After completing all three tasks, you will be rewarded with a Piece of Heart.

The Piece of Heart can be found inside a Goddess Chest in Beedle's Island. To find the corresponding Goddess Cube, head to the northwestern part of the Temple of Time and activate the minecart using a Timeshift Stone.
Ride the minecart and get ready to hit the cube with a Skyward Strike. You can hop back in the minecart to try again if you miss.

At the Eldin Volcano, head to the northeastern corner of the map to find a giant sand slide.
Slide down into the left air geyser to reach a higher platform. Jump down to the lower platform with the Goddess Cube on it and use a Skyward Strike on the cube.
After activating the Goddess Cube, head to the main river on Skyloft and dive underwater. Head into the underwater passageway east of the river to reach a storage area with a Goddess Chest inside. Open the chest to obtain a Piece of Heart.

The Goddess Chest can be found on a volcano island east of the Lanayru beacon. You need to slow down to land on the upper platform of the island to reach the chest. Open the Goddess Chest to obtain a Piece of Heart.

To obtain this Piece of Heart, you need to find the Goddess Cube at the Pirate Stronghold. Complete the dungeon and head back to the entrance.
Look up to find a target that you can grapple using the Clawshots. Make your way up until you land on an upper platform with a Goddess Cube.
To find the Goddess Chest, head to the eastern side of Skyloft. Use the Clawshots to grab onto the vines on a floating rock near the Waterfall Cave to reach the top of the waterfall.

| How to Get | Inside the Sandship, use the Timeshift Stone on the central mast and climb the ladder. Use the pulleys to make your way to the stern side and use the Clawshot to grapple on the target to drop down. Drop down to the back of the ship to reach a chest that contains a Piece of Heart. | |
After obtaining the map on the Sandship, shoot an arrow at the Timeshift Stone on the central mast and climb up the ladder.
Make your way up using the pulleys and once you reach the central mast, use the last pulley reach the stern (back side) of the ship.
Look up and use a Clawshot on the target and drop down on the platform. Look down to find a treasure chest on the west side of the ship. Open it to obtain the Piece of Heart.

After completing the Sandship, visit Fledge in his room at night and give him two Stamina Potions. After acquiring the Bow, you can find him outside the Sparring Hall and agree to play the minigame.
To obtain the Piece of Heart, you need to hit the pumpkins and earn a score higher than 600 points. Maintain your accuracy when shooting the pumpkins to get the maximum amount of combo bonus.

Head to the outside area of Volcano Summit and glide down behind the pillar to land on a platform with a Goddess Cube on it. Use a Skyward Strike to activate the cube and grapple onto the vines on the pillar on your left to get back up.
To find the Goddess Chest, head to the western side of Bug Rock within Thunderhead and look down to find a wooden platform below. Drop down from the castle wall to reach the chest that contains the Piece of Heart.

After defeating completing the Fire Sanctuary, head to the Behind the Temple Bird Statue to find Gorko. Head right to play the Goddess's Harp near the Blessed Butterflies to make a Goddess Wall appear.
Talk to Gorko again and he will ask you to draw a symbol on the wall. Perform a Skyward Strike near the wall to to draw the requested symbol.
Be sure to draw the symbol as accurately as possible to obtain the Piece of Heart as a reward.

Tips and How to Unlock Boss Rush
Picking up a Heart Container increases your maximum health by one heart. They are obtained after defeating the boss of a dungeon. There are a total of 6 of these to collect.

In Skyward Sword, you begin the game with six hearts. A total of 24 Heart Pieces need to be collected to obtain max hearts, giving you an additional six hearts.
While these are not required for completing the story, having more hearts makes the game easier especially for boss fights, and are essential for completionists who are aiming to 100% the game.
Post Game Contents and 100 Percent Guide
After picking up all Pieces of Heart and defeating all the bosses, you may notice that you only have 18 hearts in total. To obtain the last two hearts, find and equip a Life Medal on your Adventure Pouch.
There are two Life Medals, one can be found in a Goddess Chest in an island northwest of Fun Fun Island in The Sky and the other can be purchased from Beedle's Island for 800 Rupees. These act as heart containers themselves, and with both equipped in combinaton with all of the heart pieces and heart containers, you will be able to reach the maximum amount of hearts: 20.
