Hit the Bottom, Top, Bottom, then Right

To open the door puzzle in Sandship, you must hit the buttons from the bottom, top, bottom again, then right. Doing it correctly in order will break the chains and open the door.

How to Solve Sandship Door Puzzle

Head to the locked door and sand pit in B2

Zelda Skyward Sword HD - Sandship Lock Combo Map Location

Upon entering Sandship, make your way inside to B2. There, you will find a large door blocked with spikes.

Continue proceeding until you reach a large room with a locked door similar to the one in Ancient Cistern, and a large sand pit.

Uncover the clues with your Gust Bellows

Blow up the sands with your Gust Bellows to reveal four ship wheels. These are your clues to open the locked door.

Note that there are also Aracha hiding underneath the sands, so be wary.

Order is the number of colored handles

Zelda Skyward Sword HD - Sandship Lock Combo Order is the number of handles
The order for this puzzle lies on the number of colored handles on the ship wheels. These are colored red, and it will always be directed as the North relative. Order the puzzle solution from the least number of red-colored handles to the most, then identify which side is the blue triangle glowing.

Unlocking the Door

Upon uncovering all ship wheels from the sand pit, return to the locked door in the same room. Using the signs from above, strike the door with the following motions:

  1. Bottom to Top
  2. Top to Bottom
  3. Bottom to Top
  4. Right to Left

Doing so will unlock the door, and allow you to proceed to the next room!
