After delivering Mia back to Instructor Horwell, head to north towards the Statue of the Goddess to meet Headmaster Gaepora and Zelda.
After explaining the situation to Instructor Horwell, head south to get to the Plaza and ask Groose about the whereabouts of your Loftwing.
Talk to Pipit outside the Sparring Hall. He will tell you that Groose hid the Loftwing near a waterfall.
Head inside the Sparring Hall and talk to Knight Commander Eagus. Go through the door on the right and open the chest to obtain the Practice Sword.
After making your way through the cave, you should find your Loftwing trapped behind some boards. Cut the ropes to set your Loftwing free.
