Skyward Sword HD Reviews and Impressions

Impressions/Play history
Reviewer 1Reviewer 1 Breath of the Wild
Despite the original Wii version making heavy use of motion controls as its main attraction, it actually felt like that held the game back and made it somewhat frustrating to play.
In this HD remaster, you can now enjoy the game in both motion control and button-only modes. While this may deviate slightly from the original concept, it raises the game's overall enjoyability by a lot.
The game looks and sounds better than ever too, and seeing it run at 60 FPS makes it look as good as any other modern game. While the original game was certainly a landmark title of the Wii, certainly the same can be said about this game, and it will likely become one of the essential Switch titles.
Reviewer 2.pngReviewer 2 Link's Awakening, Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time
With the main limiting factor of the original being lack of button-controls, having an option to use a traditional controller makes the game a much easier to play experience. The length of the dungeons feel just right, and in particular the Ancient Cistern and Sandship puzzles and bosses were great fun.
The characters are all full of life, and seeing Link display such a wide array of emotions is a lot of fun. Thanks to the many useful items and potions at your disposal, even those who are not particularly adept at action games should be able to clear this one. The Silent Realms were certainly a bit creepy though...
Lastly, we'd just like to say that we loved the adorable Kikwis found in the Faron Woods, and if Nintendo were to make a plushy, we'd be first in line to buy one!
