What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Weapon skill grants adaptive damage, bonus stats, a guaranteed follow-up attack, and 50% damage reduction piercing to unit. |
Might: 14 Range: 1 If foe's Range = 2, calculates damage using the lower of foe's Def or Res. If unit initiates combat or is within 2 spaces of an ally, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5 to unit, unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack, and reduces the percentage of foe's non-Special "reduce damage by X%" skills by 50% during combat (excluding area-of-effect Specials). |
Range: 1 Grants another action to target ally. (That turn only. Does not stack. Cannot target an ally with Sing or Dance. This skill treated as Sing or Dance). |
If Sing or Dance is used, inflicts Res-7 on nearest foes within 4 spaces of unit through their next actions. |
Grants adjacent allies Spd/Res +3 during combat. |

◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
As a hero obtainable only through Tempest Trials, Ice Tribe Nils will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.
The best IVs for Ice Tribe Nils are +Spd and -Atk. Ice Tribe Nils has a usable Spd stat at base 43, raised to base 47 with a superboon. Using his Spd stat, he can prevent follow-up attacks from his foes with enough investment.
Ice Tribe Nils only has base 35 Atk, which is very poor compared to modern units. Players can take advantage of this by reducing it further with a bane to prevent the AI from attacking with Nils, as the AI will only attack if they can deal 5 damage with an attack unless there are no other possible options.
We recommend +Spd when merging Ice Tribe Nils up to +10 to ensure his foes cannot create follow-up attacks against him.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Ice Tribe Nils is a close magic attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Res stat.
Ice Tribe Nils's inheritable Ice Dragonstone+ has built-in adaptive damage and grants Flora Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5, a guaranteed follow-up attack, and 50% damage reduction piercing.
This is a great inheritable dragonstone to provide to your favorite dragon units, as all of the effects are quite relevant in today's metagame. Non-Special damage reduction effects are found in almost every new unit released currently, and piercing through that damage reduction is important in order to defeat those units safely.
However, Ice Tribe Nils himself is a very poor offensive unit. He will need these effects to even damage his foes, let alone defeat them.
Ice Tribe Nils has good Spd and Res stats at base 43 and 40 respectively.
With enough investment, Ice Tribe Nils can utilize these stats to soak magic damage for his team while providing refresher support with Play at the same time.
Ice Tribe Nils suffers from not having any unique skills to call his own, making him unable to stand out amongst other units.
Infantry refresher units are quite abundant in the game, and lacking an exclusive skill makes Ice Tribe Nils replaceable by better units.
Ice Tribe Nils takes 1.5x damage from dragon-effective weapons like Divine Mist, and one blow from this type of weapon will deal significant damage. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
