Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs

When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

Neutral IVs by default!

As a hero obtainable only through Tempest Trials, Darros will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.

+Def/-Res

The best IVs for Darros are +Def and -Res. Darros is not built to take blows from magic units so having some points off his Res would not weaken him significantly. With that, you should maximize his Def as much as possible as he is very strong in that side of defense. Taking a +Def IV combined with his naturally decent Spd means that most physical units will find it hard to take him down.

+Spd for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Spd IV when merging Darros to 10. At +10 Merges, Darros' Spd will reach such high levels that pushing it up higher is a waste, considering he has access to Earth Boost 3 and Odd Def Wave 3. At this point, it would be better to opt with a +Spd IV instead to help him take less follow-up attacks and allow him to make some follow-up attacks on his own. Follow-up attacks also speed up special activation so make sure to inherit an offensive special onto Darros.

WIth this IV, Darros will get 39 Spd which might not be enough to score follow-up attacks on a lot of foes, but it will protect him from lots of hostile follow-up attacks.

How to Use, Explanation

This is a budget build for Darros with minimal Skill Inheritance. Quick Riposte 3 gives him a guaranteed follow-up attack when he is attacked while Renewal will give him some sustain to counteract Fury recoil.

How to Use, Explanation

This is a build for Darros that utilizes Distant Counter. Quick Riposte allows him a guaranteed follow-up attack when he's attacked, while Rouse Spd/Def and Spd/Res Solo boosts his stats while not adjacent to an ally.

Darros is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Darros Strengths

Stronger with no adjacent allies

Deck Swabber+ inflicts -5 Atk/Def to enemies whenever Darros enters combat without allies adjacent to him. It also neutralizes any bonuses the foe has on Atk/Def. A severely lowered Atk/Def means that Darros will take less damage from counterattacks and allows him to deal more damage as he inflicts physical damage with an axe.

Great Physical Bulk

In addition to Deck Swabber+, Darros also possesses Earth Boost 3 and Odd Def Wave 3 that both increase his physical defense. This is all on top of his Def of 37 and Spd of 32 which are both fair amounts.

Take note that Earth Boost 3 requires Darros to have 3 HP higher than the opponent at the start of combat! Additionally, Odd Def Wave is only available at odd-numbered turns, but both these skills can be active in both phases. A dual-phase +12 Def should not be underestimated!

Darros Weaknesses

Reliant on HP to Receive a Boost

Earth Boost 3 requires Darros to have at least 3 more HP than his enemy. This means in some situations, he would not be able to take advantage of Earth Boost 3. We recommend having units like Reyson and Leanne who can both heal and refresh Darros' actions. This makes Earth Boost easier to trigger making him more effective in the battlefield.

Low Res

Darros' Res only sits at 25 at Lv.40. This makes it easy for magic users to take him out. Be mindful of Darros' positioning in relation to magical units that can easily take him out.

Obtained as a Reward in Tempest Trials

Darros is a limited time Hero who can be obtained as a reward for your score in the Tempest Trials. They do not appear in regular summons. After the event has ended, they can be obtained by using Heroic Grails.
