As a hero obtainable only through Tempest Trials, Winter Jaffar will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.

+Spd/-HP

The best IVs for Winter Jaffar are +Spd and -HP. A higher Spd stat allows Winter Jaffar to get a ton of follow-up attacks on his foes. it also protects him from hostile follow-up attacks. His HP is of less importance and thus safe to be taken as a bane.

+Spd for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Spd IV when merging Winter Jaffar to 10. This is for the same reasons as above. If you prefer relying on skills to increase Jaffar's Spd, you can take advantage of his only superboon go for a +Res IV instead.

Winter Jaffar is a ranged physical attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Winter Jaffar Strengths

Simultaneously deal damage, heal self and inflict debuffs

Jaffar's Minty Cane+ restores 5 HP to him whenever he lands a hit on the enemy. The hit does not need to deal damage, he just has to hit his foe. This can come from initiating an attack or landing a counterattack. In addition to both those effects, it also applies a -7 Def/Res debuff to target and all foes within 2 spaces of target.

These 3 effects allow Jaffar to deal damage and inflict debuffs on the enemy while keeping himself healthy. Try to get Jaffar into constant fights as he can definitely sustain himself through this skill and his good defenses. Just make sure to be wary of units that possess Armorslayer+ or similar weapons like Hana's Katana.

Def/Res Bond Increases Defensive Prowess

Def/Res Bond 3 increases Jaffar's Def and Res by +5 if he is adjacent to an ally. Since it is an in-combat buff, it stacks with other combat buffs, so it is good to pair with units that have skills like Def Tactic or Spur Def.

It has a similar trigger condition to Goad Armor so make sure to pay attention to Jaffar's positioning ao ensure a power boost to the whole team.

Winter Jaffar takes 1.5x damage from armor-effective weapons like Armorslayer+ or Hammer+, and one blow from these types of weapons is sure to take him down. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
