Res (5) No Res IV ★★☆☆☆

◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws

See the IV Checker for All Units Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs

When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

+Spd/-HP

The best IVs for Raven are +Spd and -HP. A higher Spd stat allows Raven to get a ton of follow-up attacks on his foes. It also protects him from hostile follow-up attacks. His HP is of less importance and thus safe to be taken as a bane.

If you plan to go for a Brave Axe+ build, it is of course better to go with a +Atk IV.

+Spd for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Spd IV when merging Raven to 10. This is for the same reasons as above. With this IV at max merges, he reaches 43 Spd. This can be further increased through skills and his special effect refine so expect him to reach ridiculous levels of Spd.

Raven Best Builds

Refined - Life and Death Raven

Weapon Skill IconBasilikos
Emblem Icon: -
Attuned Skill Icon: -

How to Use, Explanation

By taking Life and Death 4 and Raven's special effect refine, he will achieve very high Atk/Spd. This allows him to run Heavy Blade 3 which synergizes with Basilikos' Special counter acceleration allowing for very easy Special activations. The high Spd will make it hard for enemies to score follow-up attacks on him so receiving a hit from the correct foe can easily put him into Desperation range. At that point, he becomes a huge threat in the player phase! You can also go for Fury 4 or Atk/Spd Push 4 in the A slot for easy Desepration activations.

Refined - Furious Wrath Raven

Weapon Skill IconBasilikos
Special Skill IconMoonbow
Emblem Icon: -
Passive Skill A IconFury 4
Passive Skill BWrath 3
Attuned Skill Icon: -

How to Use, Explanation

The recoil from Fury 4 allows easy Wrath activations. When Wrath is activated, he dishes out quick Moonbow activations that hit very hard. Quickened Pulse helps him activate the first Moonbow in the first turn. After that, subsequent Moonbows will be very easy to score.

Frenzy Offense Raven

HOT
Weapon Skill IconBasilikos
Special Skill IconGlimmer
Emblem Icon: -
Passive Skill A IconFury 4
Passive Skill BFrenzy 3
Attuned Skill Icon: -

How to Use, Explanation

This build utilizes Raven's offensive stat spread to deal as much damage as possible. Frenzy 3 keeps Raven protected through the damage reduction part while allowing him consecutive attacks once he reaches the HP threshold. Fury 4 works double time in boosting Raven's stats and providing the recoil damage necessary to get him into Frenzy range.

Raven Best Weapon Refine

Effect of Raven's Refined Weapon

Exclusive Weapon Effect from Refining (Special Effect Type)

Grants Atk/Spd+5. Inflicts Def/Res-5.
Arena Medal:500 Divine Dew:200

We recommend the Special Effect Refine for Basilikos

Basilikos' special effect refine grants Raven an effect identical to Life and Death 3. It grants him +5 Atk/Spd at the cost of -5 Def/Res. This is a great trade off as Raven is mainly an offensive unit. If you slap Desperation 3 onto him and have it activated, he can finish-off foes without taking further damage. Raven is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Raven Strengths

Access to two types of weapons

Raven has access to Basilikos. It accelerates his special trigger and has access to a special effect refine that grants him an effect identical to Life and Death 3. It is generally the better option as he can sweep a lot of enemies if he runs a Desperation build.

He also has the access to Brave Axe+! It is hard to go wrong with Brave weapons, but since Basilikos is clearly superior, you can skip the Brave Axe+ for now. However, one reason to choose Brave Axe+ is because it requires less investment to be effective.

Access to Life and Death 3 through special effect refine!

As discussed in the weapon refine section, Basilikos' special effect refine grants him a built-in effect similar to Life and Death 3. We recommend inheriting Life and Death 3 or 4 onto him to boost his offenses even further! Be warned though as this will send his defensive skills plummetting down the drain.

Possesses a Def debuff!

Threaten Def 3 inflicts -5 Def on foes within 2 spaces of Raven at the start of each turn. This will be crippling to enemy units Raven is able to score a follow-up attack on them. Odds are he will because of his naturally high Spd stat when running the Refined - Life and Death Raven build.

Because of the modest AoE, it can be easily applied to multiple foes especially taking into consideration Raven's fair mobility. It is also great in maps containing a lot of foes like Rival Domains.

Raven Weaknesses

Low Defenses

Raven's Def and Res sit at only 25 and 22 respectively. This will be further reduced if you get his special effect refine. This makes him extremely fragile. Be mindful of his match-ups and engage only those whom Raven can take out with a follow-up attack. If you can get him into Desperation range before engaging, do so to reduce the chances of taking a counterattack.

Be mindful of units that carry the infantry-effective Poison Dagger+.
