+Spd/-Res

The best IVs for Shigure are +Spd and -Res. A higher Spd stat allows Shigure to get a ton of follow-up attacks on his foes. It also protects him from hostile follow-up attacks. As an offensive unit, his defensive stats are not much of importance to him, but since his Def is a superbane, it is best to take a -Res IV instead.

+Spd for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Spd IV when merging Shigure to 10. At max merges, he reaches 44 Spd which is at a range that allows him to score follow-up attacks on a wide range of foes.

How to Use, Explanation

This build aims to initiate onto enemy teams and use the recoil from dual Fury skills to go under 50% and activate Wings of Mercy for his allies. S/D Near Trace grants Canto for Shigure to best position himself as a Wings of Mercy beacon.

Shigure is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Shigure Strengths

Azure Lance improves upon Harmonic Lance+ and grants bonus stats as well

Shigure's new unique weapon Azure Lance grants an Atk/Spd+5 buff during combat while also dealing 7 true damage during combat.

The true damage occurs every attack and not just when his Special triggers, making it a better option overall.

Sustain through Harmonic Lance+ and Noontime!

Harmonic Lance+ grants Shigure +10 true damage when his special triggers. This damage is pure and thus cannot be reduced by foes' stats. This is convenient for Shigure as Noontime is mainly a defensive special. Because Noontime only has a cooldown of 2, Harmonic Lance's damage will add up especially in long battles.

This is another reason to take a +Spd IV as follow-up attacks speed up special activation. To speed up activations even more, try to get fights in the enemy phase as Shigure is a decent enemy phase unit as long as there are no bow units nearby.

Enemy phase Spd boost

Darting Stance 3 grants Shigure +6 Spd if he is attacked. Combined with his balanced defensive stats, this skill helps him take a beating in the enemy phase provided that he is not against a bow unit.

Buffs Flying Units' Def and Res

Shigure's C skill, Ward Fliers grants +4 Def/Res to all flying allies within 2 spaces of Shigure. This allows him to provide some defensive support in all-flier teams.
