Defeat the Flamelurker at the end of 2-2: Armor Spider Archstone.
Once you've beaten the Flamelurker down and obtained the Searing Demon Soul, don't go using it just yet and head to Blacksmith Ed in the first area of Stonefang Tunnel. Handing over this Demon's Soul will allow you to upgrade the various unique weapons that can be found throughout Boletaria. If you don't give him this soul, you risk not being able to fully utilize these special weapons!
Even if you have the soul in hand, you may need to talk to Ed a few times for him to ask for it. If you don't get the option to give it to him the first time keep talking to him until he takes it.
