Kick forward hard with renewed vigor when starting to get tired while well-positioned halfway through the race. |
|---|
Hishi Akebono (Buono☆Alla Moda)'s unique split velocity and acceleration skill that activates around the 2nd half of the race depending on the amount of stamina left. It is best activated using a Pace style, since it has the potential to activate toward the front (around 3rd-5th place) in a 9-gate race (CM).
Its skill activation can be delayed further into the later parts of the mid-race by increasing Stamina. But this risks compromising other stats, along with the possibility of overshooting the activation window for having too much stamina. It's best you just focus on having enough stamina as usual for sprinters.
YUMMY☆SPEED! is expected to receive a rebalance in the future (3rd JP Anniversary): non-requirement of Stamina and will involve an overtake instead.

Hishi Akebono is a good Pace Chaser for Sprint races. Her unique skill YUMMY☆SPEED! is a a good mid-race unique skill by itself, but can be made to delay its trigger in a niche setup by fine-tuning her amount Stamina.
Overall, she has an effective unique skill. But her skill potential kit is relatively average, being consistent enough for TT and but may hardly find use in CM. If you manage to obtain her, she's a welcome addition to the Sprint team roster.
| Training Tips |
|---|
|
|

The new Unity Cup scenario allows trainees to achieve higher stats than normal, and also provides useful Skill Hints.
Hishi Akebono is best suited as a Pace Chaser and a Sprint-distance runner due to her A aptitude in both aptitudes. Being in a Pace Chaser position will also make her compatible to the skills Gourmand and Tactical Tweak if needed.
Hishi Akebono excels on short distances, particularly Sprint. This means she is at her best when you maximize both of her Speed and Power, and shorter distances entail more relaxed training for Stamina.
Wit is also good to factor in, since with less demand for Stamina, you can try to optimize her with Training to get a higher skill proc rate and better positioning.
|
Potential Lv. 3 |
・Improves navigation and acceleration in the mid-race.
・Obtain to maximize skill activation for scores in Team Trials. |
|---|---|
|
Potential Lv. 5 |
・Recovers endurance for Pace Chasers in the mid-race.
・Obtain if you want to try min-maxing Stamina for Speed and Power, or for optimizing YUMMY☆SPEED! activation. ・Better if you want to build her for surviving longer races. |
Depending on how you want Hishi Akebono to perform, the best points for raising her potential levels are at a Lv. 3 where she unlocks Perfect Prep! or Lv. 5 where she unlocks Gourmand.
| "The Benefits of Late-Night Chanko" | |
|---|---|
| Choice 1 | ・Energy +70 |
| Choice 2 | ・Energy +40
・Mood +1 ・Guaranteed cure of bad conditions. |
At random, there's a chance that Hishi Akebono can get a random event that either lets her restore a lot of energy, or restore a moderate amount with a Mood increase and a guaranteed cure of bad status conditions. If you come across this event, don't hesitate to take advantage of its effects!

As a Sprint racer, prioritize reaching max Speed and as much Power as possible. Hishi Akebono has access to Hydrate and Gourmand, allowing her to have lower Stamina requirements as a Pace Chaser.
It is important to note that if you cannot reach the stats recommended above, you can instead aim for a similar stat distribution. You can then compensate for the missing stats using skills.
Training Guide: Which Stats to Train?
For Support Cards, we recommend a deck of 2 Speed, 3 Wit, 1 Pal to maximized the priority stats of Speed and Wit (for skill activations). A Pal card helps in guarding against Mood downs through its recreation chain, on top decreasing training energy drain and failure rates.
Alternatively, you may also 3 Speed, 3 Wit if you find better results in that setup, and in case you have issues in trying to increase Speed.
This deck is for players who are starting out and are still trying to get a feel of the game's mechanics and intricacies. This deck can help you get the needed stats to clear the career, while also providing important skills.
Speed-Wit decks are typically used at high levels. If you are starting out with low limit breaks, Speed-Power decks are usually the budget options.
Take advantage of the game's borrowing feature to borrow a powerful MLB SSR, like Kitasan Black. Additionally, if you do not have an MLB copy of Riko Kashimoto (Tracen Academy), it would be better to use another SR Power card instead.
These cards will help Hishi Akebono level her needed Stats (especially with Rainbow/Friendship Training), as well as provide some needed skills.
These stats are enough to clear the URA Finale easily, as it provides enough Speed, Stamina, and Power for all of Hishi Akebono's career races, especially when partnered with the correct skills. As for the deck, you can either run a 4 Speed, 2 Power deck, or a 3 Speed, 2 Power, 1 Pal deck, with Tazuna Hayakawa as the preferred card.

3★ Sprint 3★ Turf 3★ Pace Chaser |
Prioritize Stamina and Power sparks to meet the minimum required Stamina during races. Power sparks will at least help you get some more Power in, especially if you're mostly running Speed and Wit Support Card deck.
For aptitudes, you'll want to focus first on maximizing your chances of securing Sprint sparks, then Turf and lastly Pace Chaser if there is still room.
Only take Gourmand as a last option or if you'll try out a strategy for her unique skill.
For a Sprint Pace Chaser, the compatible ◎/◯ style and distance skills are typically good pickups in general for TT and CM. For competitive skill picks, they are usually Turbo Sprint, Rushing Gale, Professor of Curvature, Head-On, and Tail Held High.
Finding the right inherited unique skills are tough for Sprint races, since most of the good skills happen on the late corner. In most Sprints, the late-race is a straight. In general, Shadow Break and Give Mummy a Hug ♡ have noticeable effects. But if you're more after securing points, Red Shift/LP1211-M is one of the easiest to activate; note that it often will activate in the mid-race will have noticeably no or little acceleration effect.
The skill Gourmand can be taken as additional TT points source after exhausting everything else. If you're not doing the niche strat of controlling her unique skill with Stamina, taking this skill is not advisable.

on this website there should really be a better like. explanation on WHY certain cards are used for certain character playstyles, i picked all of this up from skipping around a bunch of half hour youtube videos and it's really not that difficult to summarize :/ i liked the explanations before for the alt cards for URA decks and idk why you guys ditched them, they were more helpful than whatever this is for ingame decision making (since this doesn't tell you why all the cards are optimal)
