Compared to the first two chapters, Chapter 3 starts out with competitors in the C rank in the first race. Not only that, Rice Shower, Gold Ship and Mejiro Mcqueen will be participating as well, restricting players from using them.
Fortunately, there are still other strong trainees that can be utilized, so you won't be short on alternatives.

In terms of difficulty, there was no noticeable increase compared to the first race. Only one other participant received a C+ rank. There are no restrictions on playable characters, so you can choose any trainee. If you have completed the first race in this chapter, you will find this race relatively easy.

For this race, you only need to place in the top three, and for good reason: two S-rank trainees, Biwa Hayahide and Narita Taishin, will be participating. Naturally, this means that they cannot be used in this race.
Your real competition will be up against other C+ ranks, meaning that meeting the top three requirement wouldn't be much more difficult than the first two races.

This is by far the hardest race in the chapter. You will be going up against several B-ranks: Eishin Flash, Admire Vega, Vodka, and Ines Fujin. To succeed in this race, you must get your chosen character to at least B rank, which requires better career runs.
If you're a beginner having difficulty completing this chapter, don't be discouraged. The rewards are permanent and not time-limited. You can always come back and finish this race once your characters have achieved better career results.

Completing episodes 1 to 13 and achieving the required placements for all four races will result in a total earning of 480 Carats.
