Honkai: Nexus Anima Updates Fans With DevTalk Phase II
Fyrklor and Hoggit Join the Anima

Honkai: Nexus Anima (HNA) developer miHoYo shares a first look at two new anima, environmental enhancements, and a new area coming to the auto-chess RPG game in a new DevTalk posted on their official website and X (formerly Twitter) account.
Joining the Anima lineup is a feline-like creature named Fyrklor, "brandishing a greatsword with resolve." Flames resembling a scarf-cape combination complement its silver fur. It bears the Aspect of Strength, thus "possesses immense strength" and "is driven by a desire to use this power to protect others." Fans were quick to notice its design’s likeness to the character Kiana and hoped it would be her main Anima.
The second Anima addition, Hoggit, is a piglet that carries the scent of apple pie and features a design reminiscent of an apple pie costume. Its brief animation shows it having a playful personality as it spins around, "happily pigging out without a care in the world."
Richer Environment and a New Playable Area

Adding to the recent concept art drops are refinements to the environments in the seaside town of Iia and a new area preview. The developers have embellished Iia’s nighttime environment with "natural lighting effects," on top of further polishing the location with "richer lighting and environmental details."
Moreover, a brand-new, currently unnamed area "dominated by skyscrapers" is coming to the game. Its flagship store, which incorporates the Anima Umpurrela as its central theme, is said to represent the district's prosperity.
Aside from the Anima and area enhancements outlined in their post, the developers tease that they are "continuously developing new content and refining existing features." Nonetheless, they have yet to specify what these are.
"Aspect Exploration Project" Playtest Confirmed

The developers also used the blog post to announce that the next playtest will soon open for recruitment. Dubbed the "Aspect Exploration Project," the multilingual, small-scale beta test will gather feedback on designs, aimed at improving the game further.
"Your feedback is essential to us," the post reads, "and we can’t wait to have you on board!" As of now, the exact recruitment date has not been confirmed, but they will provide more information on how to participate in the future.
HNA's first playtest, the Nexus Bond Test, ran from September 17, 2025, to September 23, 2025. It was a data wipe test, leading to the deletion of all account data and progress after the testing period. Key issues from feedback revolved around performance, localization, environmental lapses, uninteresting character abilities and visuals, and imbalances in the quest system.
Following the concluded closed beta test (CBT) was the DevTalk Phase I, posted on December 1, 2025. It showcased the updated character visuals for Parayaya, with a focus "on refining some of her model details" and adding "subtle flourishes in keeping with her character to enrich her overall image." These included small modifications to her eyes, hair texture, shoes, and the material rendering, as well as giving her a small, black backpack.
In the post, they also hinted at ongoing development for Anima designs and in-game environments, which ties with the latest DevTalk they released.

Honkai: Nexus Anima (HNA) is the latest entry to the Honkai series, following Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai: Star Rail. HNA uses an autobattler system similar to Teamfight Tactics by Riot Games, where players deploy Anima and watch them battle it out on their own.
Although HNA has no confirmed release date yet, players can expect it to arrive on PC via Steam and Epic Games and on mobile devices (iOS and Android). For more information about the game, check out our article below.
