Seize the moment when close to the runner behind on the final straight, slightly consuming endurance to greatly increase velocity for a moderate duration. |

Mejiro Ardan's Unique Skill greatly increases her velocity on the final straight for a moderate duration when another runner is close behind her, in exchange for some of her stamina.
Because of how her Unique Skill works, having a recovery skill like Race Planner or having a bit more stamina than usual will help mitigate the Stamina cost.

Mejiro Ardan (Crystalline) is a Pace Chaser that excels at Medium distances, with skills that improve her performance in the running style and distance such as All I've Got and Pace Chaser Corners ◯, as well as recovery skills such as Race Planner.
Her 20% Wit growth rate allows her to get the wit she needs to activate her skills, while her 10% Speed growth rate helps her get the Speed she needs more easily. Lastly, her Unique Skill has easy activation requirements and can be a huge advantage based on the track she is racing on.
If you're strictly looking for efficient, competitive picks on a budget, consider saving your carats for future banners instead, since Mejiro Ardan (Crystalline) will need more work to have an edge compared to other Medium runners like Oguri Cap, Agnes Tachyon, and even a Medium-built Gold Ship. Alternatively, you can pull for her if you like her as a character.
| Training Tips |
|---|
|
|

When training Mejiro Ardan (Crystalline), use the brand new Unity Cup scenario to take advantage of the new Spirit Burst mechanic. This not only lets you gain more stats than normal, but can also provide useful Skill Hints.
Mejiro Ardan will get a negative condition called Legs of Glass after her debut race which discourages racing twice in a row, as doing so will decrease her Energy by 10 and apply Practice Poor. The condition, however, provides +5 Skill Points during her career races. This bonus does not activate if she has Practice Poor.
Make sure to keep this condition in mind when planning for your optional races, as it will only be removed upon winning the Tenno Sho (Autumn) in Senior Year. Try to focus on races that reward a lot of fans. Do note that this condition will not appear in the Trackblazer scenario, as hidden events do not trigger there. The penalty will also not take effect if the second race is a Career Race.

Listed above are the Skill Hints you can get based on the race you pick after the Classic Year Japanese Derby. You can choose between the Kikuka Sho (Long) or Tenno Sho (Autumn) (Medium).
Note that based on the race you choose, you will get different Skill Hints after winning 1st place. You will also get different Skill Hints during the Senior Year Tenno Sho (Autumn) based on which race you picked.
The Kikuka Sho will be difficult to win, as Mejiro Ardan has a D aptitude for Long races. Fortunately, you only need to participate in this race. However, if you plan to win the Kikuka Sho to get the skill hint for Pressure, you will need to invest in Long Sparks.
At minimum, you will need seven Long sparks to improve her aptitude to A, making it easier to win the Kikuka Sho. You will also need at least 500 Stamina to help you with the race's length.
Running Mejiro Ardan as a Pace Chaser is the best choice, as she has access to Pace Chaser skills, as well as an A-rank aptitude for the running style. While improving her aptitude from A to S is possible, it is not required.
Mejiro Ardan has Race Planner, which can be unlocked by reaching Potential Level 3. Race Planner will recover stamina during the mid-race, allowing her to keep running while also mitigating the stamina drain from her Unique Skill.
It is important to improve her Medium aptitude using Legacy Sparks to maximize her performance in both her career races and in Team Trials. Improving it from A to S would buff your Speed during races, allowing you to go even faster.
She has one required Mile race in her career, so it is an option to improve her Mile aptitude to A using Legacy Sparks to make sure she performs well in it. One Legacy Spark is enough to upgrade her aptitude from B to A, but it is not required as she can win it through stats alone.
Legacy and Sparks Guide: Inheritance Explained

Since Mejiro Ardan (Crystalline) will be part of your Medium Team in Team Trials as a Pace Chaser, we recommend getting the stats above so she has enough Stamina and Power to beat the competition. Getting at least one Gold Recovery Skill is a must not only to help her have enough stamina for her races, but also to mitigate her Unique Skill's stamina drain.
If you are only planning to clear a career run with Mejiro Ardan, then you can aim for lower stat numbers, as the stats above are for Team Trials.
Training Guide: Which Stats to Train?
For Support Cards, we recommend using a Speed and Power deck consisting of 3 Speed, 2 Power, and 1 Pal card. This will help Mejiro Ardan get the stats she needs, as well as the Power to overtake her opponents. Alternatively, you can also use a Speed and Wit deck consisting of 3 Speed, 2 Wit, and 1 Pal card. This helps you train more often while also providing Wit to help activate her Skills.
Rice Shower (Happiness Just around the Bend) in particular is a good Support Card to have in the Speed-Power setup if you prefer Swinging Maestro over Race Planner. This also allows you to get a discounted Gold Recovery skill without relying on Hint Books to get Race Planner hints.
If you do not have Riko Kashimoto (Planned Perfection), you can instead use a fully uncapped Riko Kashimoto (Tracen Academy).
This deck is for players who are starting out and are still trying to get a feel of the game's mechanics and intricacies. This deck can help you get the needed stats to clear the career, while also providing important skills.
Take advantage of the game's borrowing feature to borrow a powerful MLB SSR, like Kitasan Black. Additionally, if you do not have an MLB copy of Riko Kashimoto (Tracen Academy), it would be better to use another SR Stamina card instead.
| Recommended Alternative Support Cards | |
|---|---|
| Speed | |
| Power | |
| Wit |
These cards will help Mejiro Ardan level her needed Stats (especially with Rainbow/Friendship Training), as well as provide some needed skills.
These stats are enough to clear the URA Finale easily, as they provide enough Speed, Stamina, and Power for all of Mejiro Ardan's career races, especially when partnered with the correct skills.
| Recommended | |
|---|---|
| 9★ Stamina 9★ Power |
|
| 3★ Pace Chaser 1★ Mile 3★ Medium |
For Legacy Sparks, we recommend getting Stamina and Power sparks to help you get the Stamina that you need for your races. If you find yourself having a hard time training your Stamina, you can switch some Power sparks for Stamina sparks.
As for running style and length, go for Pace Chaser and Medium sparks to help Mejiro Ardan perform better in Medium Team Trials. You can also get 1 Mile spark to help with your Mile Career race, but this is not required.
You can use either your own Veterans, or borrow the ones from your friends. If you do not have Veterans with full sparks, you can go with whatever you have access to.
As a Pace Chaser, you will need both velocity and acceleration skills to help you keep your position throughout the race before moving up. Acceleration skills include Head On and No Stopping Me!, both of which activate in the late race. Good velocity skills, on the other hand, include Pace Chaser and Medium Corners, Professor of Curvature, and It's On!, all of which can activate in the mid-race.
Race Planner is Mejiro Ardan's go-to Recovery skill thanks to it being part of her kit, although Swinging Maestro can be a good alternative as well. As for inherited Unique Skills, Triumphant Pulse is always a good choice, as this can help close out races with a final burst of speed.
If you cannot get the recommended skills, you can replace them with similar skills that you have access to. You will just need to make sure that Mejiro Ardan can activate said skills in a race.
