How to Increase Bond Levels
Bond Level is the relationship between a character and her trainer in Umamusume: Pretty Derby. Read on to learn about Bond Levels and how to increase it as well what you unlock at higher Bond Levels!

Bond Level Explained
Measure of Relationship Level
Bond Level is the amount of affection between an Umamusume and the player which can be improved by using the character in races like Team Trials or in Career mode.
Different from Friendship Bonds
Friendship Bonds refer to the bond between your Trainee and their Support Cards and is entirely different from Bond Levels. Friendship Bonds are leveled in Career mode to enable Friendship Training.

Every time a character raises their Bond Level, they will need more Bond Points to go to the next level.
If you reach max level, at Bond Level 12, you can hold up to 5000 Bond Points. These can be used for future updates and events where you can see exclusive cutscenes featuring that character.

Complete Career Playthroughs
Bond Points will be earned once a character finishes their Career. They will receive 15 Bond Points after a Career.
So far, this is the best way to raise Bond Level for a specific character. Even if you are not focusing on a specific character, playing Career mode often will slowly raise the Bond Level of your roster.
Participate in Team Trials
Umamusumes can also earn bond points by participating in Team Trials, a competitive game mode where you compete in a team race against players all around the world.
Characters in the team will earn 1 Bond Point if the team loses or 2 Bond Points if they win. In other words, they just need to participate in the Team Trials to earn Bond Points.
Though the amount is little, it is the only method for multiple characters to earn Bond Points at once. With 5 RP, you can do 5 Team Trials every day. These races will earn you at least 5 Bond Points for most of your characters.

Higher bond levels are needed to unlock Umamusume Story episodes for each Umamusume. These episodes reward you with Carats for each one you unlock and watch.
Each Umamusume has a total of 7 story episodes you can unlock. These reward a total of 230 Carats when you complete all of them.

Increasing your Bond Level with an Umamusume also unlocks more information on their profile, letting you know more about them. This does not affect gameplay in any way and is only there to give you more information about a character.
Umamusume Voicelines
Bond Levels also unlock special voicelines from the Umamusume you can listen to. These are used in-game during Trainee or Support Card Events, in the main menu screen, in a race, or in other rare events.
