The requirements for getting a 3 Star Spark differ depending on the color. Be sure to keep the minimum requirements in mind when training your Umamusume. The higher your stat is, the more chances you will have on getting a 3 star Spark on that stat.
Despite having the required amount for a stat, getting a 3 star Spark is still randomized and is not guaranteed so you will need to train multiple times until you eventually get lucky.

Blue (Stat) 3 star Spark will not be drawn unless the stat rank is B (600) or higher. Also, the higher the status, the higher the chance you have to get a 3 Star spark for that stat, so aim for SS (1100) or higher.

To get a Pink 3 star Spark you will need to have an A rank or above on the Track, Distance, or Style that you want.
Aptitude Guide (Track, Distance, Style)
You will have a higher chance on getting a specific pink 3 star depending on what your Legacy Umamusume have. For example, you can easily get a Mile Spark if you have both Legacies that have a Mile pink spark.
Legacy and Sparks Guide: Inheritance Explained

Green Spark (Unique Skills) can only be obtained from 3-star Umamusume. The chances of getting a 3-Star Spark depending on skill level has not yet been confirmed as of writing.

For 1-Star and 2-Star Umamusumes, you must first unlock enough Stars using Star Pieces to turn them into their 3-Star versions. You can do this by either rolling enough duplicate characters, trading in Goddess Statues, or participating in Legend Races.
This will evolve their Unique Skill into stronger versions, and will make it possible to inherit it via Sparks.

Aim to raise the specific stat that you want a 3 Spark on up to SS or 1100 to raise the chances of getting a blue 3 star Spark of that stat. If you are a newcomer to the game, it is best to have 3-4 Support Cards focused on the stat that you want to raise when training.
Training Guide: Which Stats to Train?

Aim for B or low rank for stats that you don't want 3 star Sparks on and just have the aptitude that you want to have a high rank to raise its chances of getting a 3 star Spark.

Try to enter horses in G1 races that are suitable for the horse as much as possible. The more the legacy Umamusume won the same G1 race, the more bonuses will be applied at the time of inheritance.
It is ideal to check the races in which the parents have won and try to enter the horse in the same race as much as possible.

When you finish a career (whether it's a fail or complete training), you will get Sparks for the Umamusume you trained. The sparks that you get are completely random so you will have to do multiple training sessions until you get the sparks that you want.

Umamusume who have finished their career are used as a Legacy for future Umamusume trainings and sparks that they get play a big part on affecting the new Umamusume's stats and aptitude.
Select a Legacy Umamusume that have sparks that will benefit the Umamusume you are planning to train during their career. For example, if you are training an Umamusume who will have many Medium and Long races, it is better to have a Legacy that has a good Speed or Stamina spark and an aptitude spark that will improve their performance on those races.

You can inherit Skills and raise Stats given by the Legacy sparks through Inspiration events during a career. There will be three times where this will occur: during the start of a career, late March of Junior Year, and late March of Senior Year.
Inspiration events will let you inherit six Umamusume sparks which includes both the legacy Umamusume that your current trainee has and their own legacy during their training.
Legacy and Sparks Guide: Inheritance Explained

Speed is the stat that you most likely want to be higher more than the other stats. It is recommended to use a Legacy that will provide Speed spark, ideally if they have 3 stars on it to get more speed during Inspiration events.
You will also get a higher score if you have high amount of speed after finishing a career playthrough.
Speed Guide: What Does Speed Do?
If you are running 4 Speed cards, you can also just focus on using Legacy with Stamina or Power spark, as the 4 Speed cards will already provide alot of Speed and some Power when you choose to train this specific stat.
Of course, the Legacy that you will choose will greatly depend on what distances your trainee will race on.

Choose a Legacy that will provide an increase on your Distance rank(Sprint, Mile, Medium, Long). Having a high aptitude for a distance will improve your Umamusume's performance on those races like increased speed.

Green sparks or Unique Skill are passed down by a 3-star Umamusume. We recommend using a Legacy that has a green skill that will match the running style of the Umamusume that you are planning to train.
For example, Symboli Rudolf's Unique Skill are great for Pace Chasers, Late Surgers, and End Closer but wouldn't fit Front Runners much as they ideally need to be at the front always and won't pass other racers that much.
| Name | Effect |
|---|---|
| URA Finale | Speed and Stamina increase |
| Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes | Speed and Stamina increase |
| NHK Mile Cup | Speed and Power increase |
| Victoria Mile | Speed and Power increase |
| Hopeful Stakes | Speed and Stamina increase |
| JBC Sprint | Stamina and Power increase |
Some white sparks will increase your stats depending on what race spark it is. Above are some examples of race sparks that can increase your stats during Inspirations.
