Increasing your Umamusume's Potential Level will unlock new skills for them to obtain in Career playthroughs in Umamusume: Pretty Derby. Learn the effects of Potential Levels and how to increase it as well as the materials you need for each level!

| 1 |  Go to the Enhance menu from the main screen. |
| 2 |  Select the "Trainee" button. |
| 3 |  Select "Potential Levels" from here. |
| 4 |  Choose the Umamusume you want to increase the level of and press "Raise Potential". |
| 5 |  Select the Potential Level you want to go for then press "Raise Potential" again. You'll need the materials before you can press the button. |
 For Potential Lvl 4 and Lvl 5, click on the arrow next to the list of materials to see the rest of the materials you need. Note that these materials are also required, they are not alternative materials. |

Shoes Needed Different for Each Umamusume
Each Umamusume requires different kinds of shoes when raising their potential. For example, Gold Ship requires Long Racing Shoes while Nice Nature requires Medium Racing Shoes.
Effects of Potential Levels
Unlock Skills to Learn During Training
Increasing the Potential Levels of your Umamusumes will allow them to unlock new skills that they can learn while training during Career playthroughs, literally increasing the potential power of your Umamusumes.
Recommended Characters for Potential Unlock
Level Up Before Starting a Playthrough
Leveling up your Umamusume's Potential during an ongoing playthrough will have no effect. You will have to increase the Potential Level before starting a playthrough for it to take effect.
