Course Notes
・There are 2 uphills in the race, 1st uphill at the Early-Race of ①Straight and the 2nd uphill is in the Homestretch of the Late-Race.
┗ This course technically loops around, so the 2nd uphill is the same as the 1st.
・There are no technical downhills, making certain skills like Go-Home Specialist inactive for the duration of the race.
・The second half (middle) of the race is on the ②Straight.
・The 777m point for Triple 7s in near the end of the Mid-Race on ③Corner.

ⓘ Numbers with circles signify the order of the track part in the course. ① in Straights, for example, stands for the 1st straight.

Note that the Unity Cup scenario will arrive on November 6, 2025, which will be in the middle of the Leo Cup schedule of Round 2. The new scenario will give better training results, so you may expect to make some emergency training for at least Round 2 of the Champions Meeting.

We recommend you still go with the usual setup focusing on Speed and Stamina first, then others. But if you do train during the Unity Cup scenario, take advantage of the scenario cards already like the SSR/R Riko Kashimoto Pal and SSR Rice Shower Power cards.

This Tier List can be subject to changes.

In the Leo Cup, we'll be seeing the return of the usual competitors from the Taurus Cup. However, we'll see a shake up of Front Runners due to the existence of Seiun Sky and Summer Maruzensky providing very valuable uniques.

Debuffers

Tier List may be subject to changes. Any Umas may succeed in CM due to the randomized nature of matchmaking, Mood factors, positioning, etc.

For Leo Cup, we are expecting to see multiple debuffers, especially Nice Nature. For most players, an Ace with 2 Debuffers or 2 Aces with 1 Debuffer are viable setups to run. End Closers, like Gold Ship, can be used to avoid some of the debuffs. If you can get enough End sparks, consider having your Ace as an End Closer since the Debuffers are typically run with a Late Surger style.

Front Runner is the Meta

If you have Summer Maruzensky, you may want to pair her with another Front Runner like Seiun Sky, so you'll have a better chance of securing Angling and Scheming for one of them.

Gamble with Late Surgers and End Closers

You can also run a Hybrid setup, where your Late Surger/End Closer will try to win while carrying some debuffs. However, you must be more selective with the debuffs, as you'll also want to have skills to actually help them win.

Wedding Mayano Top Gun is one example of a Hybrid Ace that is a surprise top entry into this Champions Meeting, due to her being capable of becoming an End Closer with Mystifying Murmur. It also helps that she get a guarantee of Swinging Maestro at Potential Level 5.

ⓘ Prioritize maximizing stats in this order: Stamina Stamina > Speed Speed > Power Power > Wit Wit > Guts Guts.
┗ Make sure you can at least reach the baselines for Stamina, Guts, and Wit. If not all, focus on Stamina to minimize losses to speed before reaching the end of the race.

As a Medium-length race, the Leo Cup requires more stamina to avoid having your racers flame out near the goal.

For Debuffers, they don't necessarily have to win, so stats can be distributed mostly toward Wit instead to allow them to activate their debuffs more consistently. You'll still want to aim for some Stamina and Speed to clear their careers.

Stamina Chart Notes
Stat Chart Assumptions:
・1200 Speed, 800 Power, 300 Guts, 400 Wit
No Green Skills
・Above assumes competing against 2 Nice Natures having Gold DebuffMystifying Murmur and 3x Common Debuffcommon style debuffs for each (Subdued, Hesitant, Flustered).
Gold DebuffAll-Seeing Eyes is not factored in since activation and range is relative. Assume ~100+ Stamina as a safeguard for each activation.
・Add some more Stamina if you're trying to ensure protection from Rushed state.
Legend:
・SM: Swinging Maestro
・"Spec" refers to specific stamina recovery skills for the running style. For 2 Gold, the following are checked below. Alternatively, you may also count in Breath of Fresh Air or other non-style recoveries.
Front Runner Front: SM + Restless
Pace Chaser Pace: SM + Gourmand
Late Surger Late: SM + Relax
End Closer Icon End: SM + Sleeping Lion

Tips:
・The debuffs skills All-Seeing Eyes only work against racers in front 'within view', so styles like End behind and Front that is far enough ahead will be able to dodge this debuff.
┗ Some debuff skills like Dominator affect velocity instead, so having a lot of velocity skills to pad against them will be enough.
・Recovery skills are only good when they activate; make sure to have enough Wit, such as an optimal 400 points or a minimum of 300 for Aces.
・Having blue skills is the most efficient answer against Debuffers. Each gold recovery skill is worth around 3x more (around 100 or more worth of stamina points) than common recovery.
┗ The converse can be said for gold red skills; each subtract worth around 100 or more stamina points, and lesser for common debuffs.

900 Stamina and more is usually the safe standard for countering some debuffs and overcoming the uphills of the Hanshin course for all styles, but having more is recommended to overcome debuffs that may appear on other racers.

To be sure, 1000 or more Stamina with 2 Rare (Gold) Recovery skills is ideally the consistent defense in giving you high chances of victories if you expect several debuffers to appear.

Borrows for Meeting Stamina Baselines

The baselines above are mostly achieveable with MLB decks, so make sure to borrow the following in priority:

  • SSR Super Creek, a must-have even just for securing Swinging Maestro alone.
  • SSR Kitasan Black if you already have Super Creek. At 3-4LB, she is a powerful Speed provider and Friendship Training activator for frequenting the Speed training facility due to high Special Priority.
  • Other cards if you already have both, to fill for additional Speed, Stamina, Wit, or skills.
  • Alternatively, SSR Tazuna Hayakawa for much easier training due to her events, along with the chance for Concentration and Tail Held High.

Stats boosted by these Green Skills are hinted at their skill icons. For example, Right-Handed shows boots, which means it boosts the Speed stat, Firm Conditions buffs Power, and Hanshin Racecourse improves Stamina.

Leo Cup Speed and Acceleration Skills

Yellow Skills
All Styles ⓘ Note that Tail Held High needs 3 skills to activate in the mid-race to proc.
Front Runner Front ⓘ Note that Groundwork needs 3 skills to activate in the early-race to proc. Having 3 passive (green) skills activate in the beginning will guarantee this.
Pace Chaser Pace
Late Surger Late
End Closer Icon End

All styles appreciate as many velocity-boosting skills as possible to minimize the reduction from Dominator.

For Front Runners, Groundwork and three green skills is a must to stay ahead early. Note that Groundwork can be passed down as a White Spark from legacy parents. They are also affected the most by Late Starts, so having the skill Concentration/Focus will come in handy. While you can substitute a green skill for Focus, it's not guaranteed to activate and can make Groundwork useless.

Late Surgers and End Closers will want late-game acceleration like Red Shift, Shooting for Victory, or even Let's Pump Some Iron to catch up in the final part of the race as well. Note that for End Closers, Straightaway Spurt does not appear to give any noticeable effect despite being able to activate.

Leo Cup Blue Skills

Blue Skills
Moxie Icon Moxie / Restless Icon Restless (Front)
Hydrate Icon Hydrate / Gourmand Icon Gourmand (Pace)

Leo Cup's track features 2 uphills, making Moxie/Restless a good choice for recovery for Front Runners like Summer Maruzensky. As with most races, Corner Recovery/Swinging Maestro is consistent recovery for all styles and doesn't trigger too early.

The course has no downhills, so After-School Stroll and Go-Home Specialist will not activate. If your End Closer had this from Taurus Cup, it's best to build a new one with more reliable recovery.

Leo Cup Red Skills

Red Skills

Red Skills for the Leo Cup can usually follow the skills from previous cups (like Hesistant Pace Chasers); you'll want skills that can reduce stamina or reduce velocity.

Dominator and Mystifying Murmur make a return, as this is a Medium race. You may need to account for additional speed and stamina debuffs for your builds.

Above are sample deck setups you can try for training your Umamusume for Leo Cup. Remember to swap cards if they conflict with your trainee, and note that the randomized nature of Career runs means you'll have to make multiple runs until you get a desirable career result.

Debuffer Setup

Late Surger Deck Sample
The Aoi Kiryuin card can be swapped with a Wit card such as Agnes Tachyon Wit SR. The Air Groove Guts SR is also a decent choice for End debuffs.

Debuffers are more viable in the Leo Cup due to the availability of Dominator and Mystifying Murmur. As Summer Maruzensky is expected to dominate, it's recommended to also bring as many Front Runner debuffs as possible. You can fill the rest of your skills with Flustered, Subdued, and Hesitant debuffs for the other running styles.

We do a little gambling. I got Group A 2nd with her (lost by a head) - but i did luck out with no Summer Marus

Idk but my guess is that it’s because of rushing or having a late-start immediately shutting her unique down
