Friendship Training can indeed still fail if the failure rate isn’t 0%, so make sure to consider whether the risk for injury is worth it!
All Positive and Negative Effects

Friendship Training unlocks once the friendship gauge reaches 80% or higher, indicated by the gauge turning orange.
The Support Card's type will always match the type of training if Friendship Training is available.

Prioritize training with multiple supports present to unlock Friendship Training faster, regardless of training type.
As you progress through the Career run, you can then focus on the stats you want your Trainee to have using Friendship Training and higher level facilities.

Unlike other training types, Wit training restores a small amount of energy. Whenever you can, use Wit training to push your Trainee's energy above 50% to reduce the risk for injury.
However, it is not advisable to rely solely on Wit training for energy recovery because you may miss out on valuable turns in the future.

Wit Support Cards often have a support effect called Wit Friendship Recovery, which boosts the amount of energy restored during Wit Friendship Training.
If multiple Wit Friendship Trainings stack, that turn becomes incredibly efficient, providing a substantial energy recovery, a massive boost to Wit, Skill Points, and a small bonus to Speed.
The Charming ◯ status grants an additional +2 friendship points per training session, making it especially valuable in the early stages of a run.

All Positive and Negative Effects

When starting a run, choose Support Cards that have Specialty Priority and Initial Friendship Gauge.
Specialty Priority increases the chance of a support card appearing in the preferred training type, which helps trigger Friendship Training more frequently. Initial Friendship Gauge allows the support card to begin with a partially filled friendship gauge.
Note that you'll still need to account for a Support Card's other traits such as Skills, Events, and the like!
