Umamusume How to Increase Team Rank

This is a guide on how to increase your Team Rank for the Unity Cup in Umamusume: Pretty Derby. Read on to learn what Team Ranks are and how to increase them here!

How to Increase Team Rank

  1. Win Team Races
  2. Activate Unity Trainings
  3. Trigger Spirit Bursts

Win Team Races

Unity Cup Team Race Schedules
Round 1 After Junior Year Late Dec
Round 2 After Classic Year Late June
Round 3 After Classic Year Late Dec
Round 4 After Senior Year Late June
Finals After Senior Year Late Dec

Team Races are the primary way to increase your Team's Rank. Every six months, you will be participating in Team Races that require you to build five teams for all Race Distances and Tracks, similar to Team Trials. Do note that these are separate from your Uma's Career races and do not gain fans.

Your primary goal in Unity Cup careers is to win these Team Races to further increase both your Team's and Uma's stats, skill points, ranks, and placements. Win each match by getting at least three wins for the different distances. Alternatively, losing causes your placements to go down, so aim for teams you can beat.

Activate Unity Trainings

Unity Cup Spirit Burst Mechanics

Unity Cup's training period differs from previous Scenarios, as your Uma will be training alongside her team. Unity Trainings give additional stats and will build up team members' Spirit Burst gauges. These can then be triggered to improve Team Rank.

Manage Energy with Wit and Pal Cards

Wit Energy

In the Unity Cup, you'll have to manage your energy to focus on both Unity Training and Friendship Training, as they're essential to your Uma's career and stats. Wit and Pal Cards help a lot with recovering energy, so use them when possible.

Riko Kashimoto (Planned Perfection) is especially valuable in this scenario, as it reduces Energy Costs when training and chances of failure.

Trigger Spirit Bursts

Spirit Burst Activation

Upon doing multiple Unity Trainings with your team members, their Spirit Burst gauges will fill up. Once full, these can be activated to gain a bunch of stats for the team member and skill hints.

Do note that you can postpone activating a Spirit Burst, so wait for your team members to be in a training facility of your choice. Spirit Bursts can also only activate once per team member, so focus on upgrading other members once you trigger them.

What are Team Ranks in the Unity Cup?

Ratings for Your Team

The Unity Cup focuses on building up a team for your Uma throughout her career. The entire team gets evaluated based on team races, Unity Trainings, and Spirit Bursts, so you can't neglect training with your teammates.

Your team will consist of your Uma, your Support Cards, and random characters throughout her career.

Get It's On Skill with an S Team Rank

Skill Effect
It It's On! Increase velocity when passing another runner mid-race.

Reaching the S Team Rank in your Uma's Career lets you gain hints for the It's On skill. Career runs will give you +1 skill hint level normally, but having a scenario-linked character on your team nets you +3 hint levels.

Affect Facility Levels

Stat Rank Training Facility Level
G Rating to F Rating
Level 1
E Rating to D Rating
Level 2
C Rating to B Rating
Level 3
A Rating Level 4
S Rating Level 5

Training in Unity Cup is quite different from the URA Finale Scenario, as facilities level up based on your team's ranking for a stat rather than the frequency you use them.

Focus on building up your team's rankings above winning non-career races to ensure your Uma gets the stats she needs at the end of her career.
