Damn, back to the mines to farm for Scholar Lost in Erudition. At least I just put some old relics I had lying around on him all this time so not too bad.

i told myself id actually build him once i got his last eidolon and i got his e6 like ten minute ago. got him 7 times and yet still no sleep like the dead...... hoyo hates me

So Yanqing was my first character in HSR, and I don't believe he's as "horrible" as everyone makes him out to be. I'll admit his early game is really 50/50, you can get by with pretty much anything and his kit can make up for a lot of it. YQ does struggle with Energy costs..but if you *unfortunately* lost pity a few times, his E2 helps a lot with it. Overall, like any DPS, YQ is a basic DPS that just needs a decent amount of effort to be able to build competently.

aside from yanqing being bad, who tf decided to make him a kid in star rail

Your best shot at actually making him do SOMETHING is to put him with 3 ice characters and Fuli resonance and cope. Other than that he is an absolute trash and should honestly be a 3 star character. Pretty sure he can be overpowered by any random NPC slapping him on the ass and taking away his crit stacks

Also, he's supposed to be played as a defensive DPS, breaking weakness bars and freezing enemies. Hence, why his damage numbers aren't going to be shooting to the moon. He needs to be played smartly, not unga bunga everything. Some players just can't be bothered or have the brains to do that 😋

>>43 Sounds like skill issue to me. I've seen people use him just fine clearing MOC with 3 stars. Is he bad? No. Is he great? No. He needs tons of help from supports though. With the right supports and strategizing, he does very well. Right now, Ruan Mei is fantastic with him and some people don't even run a shielder with him because they can both prevent the enemy from acting.

With the new Penacony patch, I got a LC for him I feel works well, but haven't tried at higher SI, and it's the Final Victor. Even at SI 1, get 12% extra attack and with Yanqing landing multiple crits often, he easily gets the 32% Crit Damage bonus. Feel it fits him a bit better than others, but I also only have S1 on all my Hunt lightcones cause I'm broke and unlucky
