+Spd/-Res

The best IVs for Galzus are +Spd and -Res. Galzus has a very high base Spd stat of 41, raised to 45 with a superboon. He can compete with the fastest units in the game, but he needs this superboon.

His Res is below average and lowering it will not change his matchups, thus taking it as a bane is a safe option.

+Atk for a +10 Merge

We recommend +Spd when merging Galzus to +10 for similar reasons above. He needs the boost in Spd to compete with the fastest units.

How to Use, Explanation

This build activates Vital Astra every combat through Galzus' high Spd stat, Ninja Katana's brave effect, and Flashing Blade accelerating his Special cooldown. Surge Sparrow provides sustain to keep Galzus alive.

Galzus is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he/she deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Galzus Strengths

Rein Sword+ debuffs all nearby foes even when Galzus is not in combat

Galzus comes with the inheritable weapon Rein Sword+. This sword debuffs all nearby foes Spd/Def-5, even if Galzus himself is not in combat!

This is a great weapon for support units who assist allies in taking down key enemies.

Surge Sparrow buffs Atk/Spd and grants healing

Galzus comes with the premium A skill Surge Sparrow. This skill grants Atk/Spd+7 when he is initiating combat and heals Galzus if his Special is triggered during combat.

This skill improves his combat prowess and his sustain at the same time!

As of March 2022, only Brave Eirika and Galzus have this premium skill in their base kits.
