How to Beat Deku Baba
Slash horizontally or vertically according to the orientation of its mouth. You can also cut off its stem with a Beetle to instantly defeat it.

Deku Baba appears blue-greenish, which should not to be confused with its upgraded version of Quadra Baba (which appears yellow).

The orientation of its mouth is your clue to which direction you should slice. You only need one horizontal or vertical slash to defeat it.

The mouth of a Deku Baba may also close and briefly become invulnerable, signalling an attack.

Slash Horizontally or Vertically

Depending on the orientation of its mouth, slice the mouth of the Deku Baba. Failing to hit it will cause its mouth to briefly close.

Cut the Stem with Beetles

If you wish to battle Deku Babas without directly going near it, you can use Beetles to cut down the stem. Make sure to go directly below it as you may accidentally hit its head instead.

This is especially helpful when fighting Deku Babas that are hanging on the ceiling.
