Increase velocity with pretty princess power when engaged in a challenge on the final straight. |
|---|
Her unique velocity skill A Princess Must Seize Victory!, while promising, is hard to activate, requiring the user to be in the middle of the pack (blocked on either side). This means that the skill may not activate at the most efficient point of the race, especially since it activates on the last straight.

Kawakami Princess looks to be a competitive Late Surger for Medium races, given that she already has No Stopping Me! and Rising Dragon in her kit. No Stopping Me! gets more value in later scenarios where it becomes harder to obtain.
She was in a rough spot in JP since they didn't have the first set of major Balance Adjustments then. But now she's got a fighting chance. You'll just want to get her a recovery skill at least for that distance. She's still okay for Mile races since she is B in that aptitude to start with.
In terms of overall competitiveness, Kawakami Princess will still find herself in a crowded spot for Late Surger picks in Medium and Mile distances since there may already be more efficient ones already in your roster for the long term like Mejiro Ryan or Vodka.
| Training Tips |
|---|
|
|

When training Grass Wonder, use the brand new Unity Cup scenario to take advantage of the new Spirit Burst mechanic. This not only lets you gain more stats than normal, but can also provide useful Skill Hints.
It is recommended to train Kawakami Princess as a Late Surger built for Medium races so that she can make full use of her innate skills and potential kit. Raise her Medium aptiude from A to S to maximize her performace in this distance.
Kawakami Princess is a natural Late Surger, so it's best to run her in this style. She also has access to good Late Surger skills, such as Outer Swell and Rising Dragon.
Raise Kawakami Princess to Potential level 3 to gain access to No Stopping Me!, a navigation skill which has almost always been great to utilize since the first Balance Adjustment.
Another Late Surger skill, Rising Dragon, is available when she is raised to Potential level 5. However, it's not recommended to take due to the unreliability of its trigger condition. Opt for Outer Swell instead.

Kawakami Princess has a specific event that only occurs when she gets 1st in 7 G1 races for fillies, including the Triple Tiara. Of these races, Hanshin J.F. and Oka Sho are the only non-goal races. So use the Agenda Function to manually schedule them.
For the Queen Elizabeth II Cup, you must win it on both Classic and Senior Years.
You can go for these races just to complete the event. Note that taking optional races means taking a turn off from Unity Training if you're training in the Unity Cup scenario.

Kawakami Princess is a natural Late Surger. She'll just need enough Stamina at least to survive Medium, and such requirements can be relaxed if she is to race in Mile. For Team Trials, she will be in your Medium team.
You'll want a lot of Speed and Power to get her into the lead in the last spurt, with Stamina depending on whether she runs Medium or Mile. Follow it up last with Wit, then Guts.
If you are only planning on clearing a career run with Kawakami Princess, then you can aim for lower stat numbers, as the stats above are a baseline for Team Trials.
As a Late Surger, a 3 Speed, 2 Power, 1 Pal setup will give Kawakami Princess the stat to overtake other runners and get to the lead. Stamina can be sourced from Power training, legacy sparks, and Riko Kashimoto's card events.
If you're having a hard time raising her Stamina, you can opt for a 3 Speed, 2 Stamina, 1 Pal setup to help her survive her races longer.
This deck is for players who are starting out and are still trying to get a feel of the game's mechanics and intricacies. This deck can help you get the needed stats to clear the career, while also providing important skills.
Take advantage of the game's borrowing feature to borrow a powerful MLB SSR, like Kitasan Black. Additionally, if you do not have an MLB copy of Riko Kashimoto (Tracen Academy), it would be better to use another SR Stamina card instead.
| Recommended Alternative Support Cards | |

| Speed | |

Kawakami works as a Medium-distance Late Surger, so support cards with skill hints for these aptitudes are taken into consideration on top of general stat sticks. Kawakami Princess can also be built for Mile; because of this, cards with Mile skills are also considered if you want to build her mainly for that distance.
We recommend a 3 Speed, 2 Power, 1 Pal deck for Medium or 3 Speed, 3 Wit for Mile in the Unity Cup. But feel free to go with any of the deck setups. You'll want to prioritize balancing Speed and Power with Stamina for Kawakami Princess if you want her to focus on Medium. You can relax on raising Stamina if you are building her for Mile.
These stats are enough to clear the URA Finale easily, as they provide enough Speed, Stamina, and Power for all of Kawakami Princess's career races, especially when partnered with the correct skills. As for the deck, you can either run a 3 Speed, 3 Power deck, or a 4 Speed, 2 Stamina deck.

For Legacy Sparks, we recommend trying to find Stamina and Power sparks to help with Kawakami Princess's career. Consider getting Medium sparks to improve it from A to S and help her perform better during Team Trials. Mile sparks can be considered for her Mile career races, but it's optional.
As for style sparks, get Late Surger sparks as well for the small boost in stat.
You can use either your own Veterans, or borrow the ones from your friends. If you do not have Veterans with full sparks, you can go with whatever you have access to.
Kawakami Princess works best with speed and acceleration skills. As a Late Surger, she will often be surrounded by other runners. So skills like Outer Swell is good to have. Fast and Furious and It's On also give an additional boost.
As she is running medium, it's recommended to pick up at least 1 gold recovery skill like Swinging Maestro. This will help keep your Stamina up in these races.
Kawakami Princess can also inherit the unique skill Triumphant Pulse, which gives her a boost in velocity if she is positioned well in the last 200m of the race. Behold Thine Emperor's Divine Might is viable too, as Late Surgers often overtake other runners to take the lead.
If you cannot get the recommended skills, you can replace them with similar skills that you have access to. You will just need to make sure that Kawakami Princess can activate said skills in a race.
