Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) will be available on all major platforms, including Xbox, Playstation, and PC. Differences Between Platforms

PC Players Will Need to Register a Phone Number to Play

Activision will be upholding an SMS Security Policy that requires PC players to link their phone numbers to their Steam or Battle.net accounts.

Existing Warzone players that already have verified accounts are no longer required to register a phone number.

Steam Needs a Linked Activision Account to Redeem Bonuses

Pre-order bonuses tied to the Standard and Vault editions purchased via Steam will need a linked Activision account in order to be claimed in-game.

Since majority of the bonuses are for older CoD titles such as Warzone and Vanguard (which aren't on Steam), you will need to link Steam to Activision & Battle.net to claim and use the rewards.

Oni Operator Bundle is Exclusive to Playstation

Players who pre-order any digital edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (MW2) will be eligible to receive a Playstation Exclusive Operator Bundle called the Oni Operator Bundle. Included in the bundle is an exclusive Operator Skin as well as a Unique Weapon Blueprint.

Modern Warfare 2 Will Have Crossplay Support

Crossplay for Modern Warfare 2 will be available once the game launches on October 27, 2022, at 9PM PT. Much like how the MW2 Beta had crossplay support for Multiplayer, so too will the final release be playable across different platforms!
