Ping Function Caused a Wallhack Bug

MW2 - Ping Disabled
Infinity Ward has seemingly disabled the ping function in Modern Warfare 2 after reports of a wallhack bug began circulating in the Call of Duty community. Although no official statement regarding the matter has been released by official sources, the ping system cannot be utilized as of this moment.

Pinged Players Remain Pinged During the Entire Match

Players have noticed that the wallhack exploit occurs when a player pings an enemy operator after dying. The pinged player will remain visible throughout the entire game with the marker not disappearing.

The wallhack glitch has since then been mitigated with the quiet removal of the ping function. Updates regarding this bug will be relayed once Infinity Ward releases an official statement on the matter.
