Modern Warfare 2 - How to Appear Offline Banner

Players have the option to appear offline in-game to avoid disturbance and invite notifications from their friends in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (MW2). Read on to learn how to appear offline from your friends in Modern Warfare 2!

Modern Warfare 2 - Steam Go Offline

Steam users can appear offline in Modern Warfare 2 by clicking on Steam on the top-left corner of the Steam platform and selecting Go Offline.

Do note that you will only appear offline to other Steam users and not those playing on Battle.Net and consoles.

Battle.Net

Modern Warfare 2 - Select Profile to Appear Offline for Battlenet

Selecting your profile on the top right corner of the game's main menu for Battle. Net users will open up a drop-down menu which will show you four in-game status options which includes the ability to appear offline.

Playstation and Xbox

Unfortunately, Playstation and Xbox console players cannot appear offline on their Modern Warfare 2 friends list. With the recent major updates that have been releasing including the Season 1 and Season 1 Reloaded, the main menu settings seem to appear untouched.

We can only hope that the developers will add the option to appear offline for console players in the upcoming Season 2 update.
