When is Free-to-Play Weekend Coming to MW2?

December 10 - 11 for PlayStation Users

In a tweet posted by their official account, PlayStation announced that Modern Warfare 2, along with Grand Theft Auto V and NBA 2K23, will have a free online multiplayer weekend for players with a PlayStation Plus membership.

As of writing, there have been no announcements yet regarding Free-to-Play Weekend for other platforms but the Mid-Season Update is close and there could be news about this soon.

Free-to-Play Weekend for Modern Warfare 2 will most likely arrive this December with the Mid-Season Update scheduled on December 14, 2022.

Activision announced that Modern Warfare 2 had become the fastest selling game in its franchise, generating $800 million in sales in its first three days of launch. To cap off a successful year, Activison will look to welcome even more players to the CoD community with a potential Free-to-Play Weekend to come.

MW2 - What is F2P Weekend

Free-to-Play Weekend allows individuals without a copy of the game to play Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer for free. There are also some individuals that can only access MW2's campaign, limiting their experience of the game.

While Free-to-Play Weekend is expected to arrive before the end of the year, there is currently no official announcement from Activision.
