Warzone 2.0 - Do You Need PSPlus or Xbox Live to Play

Warzone 2.0 is a free-to-play title and players do not need an active PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold membership in order to play online. Read on to find out everything you need in order to play Warzone 2.0!

No, A Playstation Plus or Xbox Live Gold is Not Required to Play Warzone

Warzone 2.0 - You Dont Need PSPlus or Xbox Gold to Play Online

PlayStation and Xbox players do not need an active PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold membership subscription in order to play Warzone 2. The game is a completely free-to-play title. However, while you do need to create a PSN and Xbox Live account in order to access online play, registering for these accounts is free!

A Linked Activision Account is Required to Play Online

Warzone 2 requires all players to register or log-in to an Activision account in order to play online. Having a linked Activision account allows you to crossplay with friends and other players across all other platforms.

Cross-progression is another feature available with linked Activision accounts as it saves your progress online and allows you to continue your progression if you choose to play on a different platform.

Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Requires Base Game & Online Subscription

Unfortunately, those who wish to play Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer game modes will need to purchase a copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and subscribe to PSPlus or Xbox Live Gold. This is the only way to access online multiplayer play for the new MW2 title.
