Warzone 2.0 gives dead players the opportunity to redeploy in Al Mazrah by winning in the Gulag. Read on to learn more about the Gulag and the different ways on how to win it.
List of Contents
The Gulag is where dead players will fight each other in a One on One Deathmatch for a chance to redeploy back in the match. This is only available for players on their first death and if the match isn't on the final circle.
All Gulag inmates will start with a pre-set loadout of either an Assault Rifle, a Submachine Gun, or Light Machine Gun, paired with a pistol sidearm as well as a Snapshot grenade for utility. The starting loadout will depend on the current Circle progression.
Players that lose in the Gulag shouldn't immediately leave the match though as they can still be bought back by squadmates for $4000.
Players who manage to win in their Gulag fight will be redeployed along with their Gulag loadout and a 3-Plate Vest. Cash will be present as ground loot and can also be carried over once redeployed.
There are 2 ways you can win and escape the Gulag and the first way is to kill the opposing player. The opponent will start on the oppodsite end of the prison and will be marked in red at the start of the match so you can gauge their distance from you.
The second way to win and escape is to capture the flag during overtime. If both players are still alive after a specified amount of time, a flag will appear in the Gulag. Whoever captures the flag will immediately secure victory and guarantee their redeployment in the game.
Coming from the bigger Al Mazrah, it might be your first instinct to rush the prison and try eliminating the enemy squad as quick as you can. While this can be a viable strategy, it is still best to gauge the situation and play accordingly.
While you spawn with 1 Snapshot grenade, there are other throwables you can find around the Gulag. This is often overlooked as you can simply engage in gunfights with the enemy. The smaller area of the Gulag is perfect for getting creative with your Grenades and it just might make the difference between redeploying and requeuing.
