Silk and Soul is a Wayfarer Wish in Hollow Knight: Silksong. Read on to see a full walkthrough to completing the side quest, rewards, how to start and its objectives.

How to Start Silk and Soul

Complete The Majority of Wishwell Wishes

Wishwell in Bone Bottom

One of the major prerequisites to unlocking the Silk and Soul wish is to complete most side quests in the game. This does not include deliveries but the exact wishes needed to be completed is still being tested.

However, we highly recommend completing all the wishes to obtain unique rewards such as tools to gain more options as you play through the game.

Unlock the Cradle and Defeat Lace

Lace Boss Fight

The Cradle is the highest area at the top of the Citadel. You'll need to learn the three melodies and defeat Lace in her second appearance.

Make the Flea Caravan Move to Fleatopia

Fleatopia location

The final condition to unlock the Silk and Soul wish is to make the Flea Caravan move to Fleatopia. To do this, you'll need to find roughly 23-25 Fleas and head to the area where Fleatopia will be situated.

To reach the zone, you'll need to enter the Putrified ducts through a secret area on the right-most side of the Memorium which is the same area you'll save Jubilana.

Accept the Quest at the Songclave Wishwell

Once all these conditions are met, head back to Songclave in the Choral Chambers. Players can then accept the quest at the Songclave Wishwell.

Silk and Soul Walkthrough

Obtain the Three Souls From the Elders

To obtain the three souls which are The Maiden's Soul, the Hermit's Soul, and the Seeker's Soul, you'll need to talk to two NPCs in the game and access one of the late-game areas.

The Maiden's Soul can be obtained by talking to the Chapel Maiden at Bone Bottom, Moss Grotto.

Hermit's Soul Location

Talk to the Hermit which can be found past the hidden wall on the Bell Beast station in Bellhart.

Seeker's Soul Location

Seeker

Head to the upper right corner of the Bilewater area. You'll need to defeat Groal the Great to access the area to obtain the Seeker's soul.

Obtain the Snare Setter

The last item you'll need is the Snare Setter. This is a Red Tool that applies a trap on the ground

Bring the Items to the Caretaker

Give the Items to the Caretaker

Once you have all the items, travel back to Songclave and speak with the Caretaker. They will then craft three souls and the Snare Setter into the Soul Snare, an item capable of binding Grand Mother Silk, completing the quest.

Unlock Act 3

Completing the Silk and Soul wish will give you the ability to access the alternate ending route for Act 2. Doing so will let you progress the game past its intended act 2 and unlock the rest of the game after defeating Grand Mother Silk.

Use the Needolin on Grand Mother Silk

Use the Needolin

To unlock Act 3, players must take the Soul Snare and defeat Grand Mother Silk. As Hornet delivers the final blow, begin playing the Needolin instead of binding her. This will cause Hornet to fall into the abyss, giving you the Snarled Silk ending and allowing you to access act 3 when you reload your save.

Add to this you need your own bellhome. the wish comes from caretaker but without a bellhome, Caretaker won't know where to contact you. It wouldn't be Songclave because there it could be spoken in person, but to mail it could be either bell bottom, Bellheart, or nowhere at all. I had done nearly everything but it wasn't there. Even if you complete the board, Pavo doesn't give the bellhome until you inspect its locked door.
