The Wailing Mother can only be unlocked after completing the Donate wish Strengthening Songclave. Players can then accept The Wailing Mother from the Wishwell after completing this prior wish.

Track Its Location to The Slab

The Wailing Mother can be tracked to the upper left corner of The Slab. You can track it via the goop it leaves on the ground which will highlight its route straight to its hidden nest.

Defeat the Broodmother

Broodmother Boss Fight Tips
Checkmark Avoid the Goop it Spits on the Ground
Checkmark Use Aerial Tools to Dispatch its Minions
Checkmark Space out to avoid its telegraphed attacks

After entering the nest, you'll encounter the Brood Mother which is a boss that relies on its snaring goop and minions to create hazards on its small boss room. Focusing on the hazards more than the Broodmother's attack is recommmended as the Broodmother's attacks can easily be telegraphed and avoided.

After defeating the Brood Mother, you'll be able to obtain the Broodmother's Eye which is an item that you'll need to leave at the Songclave Wishwell to complete the Wailing Mother wish.
