Crafting Kit Locations and How to Use

To equip tools, open the menu and switch to the Crest tab. From there, players can scroll through their available tools and freely switch between equipment that gives Hornet various buffs and abilities.
Note that you can only equip tools when resting on a bench. You can also equip tools of the same name to multiple crests.
| Color | Details |
|---|---|
Red |
Tools marked in red are offensive tools that can be manually activated. Using tools has a set number of uses and requires Shards to refill. |
Blue |
These are your tools that provide passive buffs when equipped. These are generally defensive buffs that help you survive longer. |
Yellow |
These tools are mainly used for utility when exploring, such as allowing you to track your position or help you obtain more of the game's currencies. |
Tools are color-coded based on their functionality and can only be equipped if a crest has the corresponding color slot for the tool.
You can have multiple tools equipped at once, but some crests, like the Beast crest, only accept certain colors in their equippable slots.

To be able to equip more Tool Slots for your crest, you need to get Memory Lockets, which can be found by exploring or by purchasing them from NPCs. After getting a Memory Locket, you can then head to a bench, open up the menu, and go to the Crest tab.
From there, you can use your directional buttons to hover over the locked slots and unlock them using your Memory Lockets. Note that the option to expand the crest does not appear if you don't have a Memory Locket in your inventory.
