How to Pogo

Attack Downwards in Midair

While midair, hold down and press the attack button to perform a downwards attack. Hitting an entity causes Hornet to rebound and regain altitude, where she can execute another attack. This can be performed indefinitely for as long as the midair attack's hit connects.

Note that Hornet's actions refresh for every successful pogo. This includes her dashes and attacks, allowing players to maintain mobility while in midair.

Use the Drifter's Cloak for Easier Positioning

Flexile Spine Drifter

If you have the Drifter's Cloak, you can use its glide ability to position yourself better in midair before pogoing on another object. The Drifter's Cloak is a reward for completing the Flexile Spines wish.

Perform a Downward Slash With the Reaper Crest

Hollow Knight Silksong - Changes Moveset

Getting and equipping the Reaper Crest also changes Hornet's downward midair attack from a diagonal plunge to a downward slash, similar to the prequel's pogo, but noticeably shorter.

Can Be Used to Reach Higher Platforms

The rebound from pogo can be used to reach higher platforms, so mastery is often required to progress through areas. Skilled players can use this mechanic to reach otherwise inaccessible areas by performing pogo on flying enemies, which in some cases can reward you with collectibles or even possibly allow for sequence breaks.

The Pogo Attack can change depending on the crest equipped. Feel free to change Hornet's moveset by equipping a different crest that fits your playstyle.

For original Hollow Knight players, the Wanderer's Crest has HK1's pogo, since it slashes directly downward. If you're looking for this variation, be sure to equip this crest!
