All 7 Crest Locations
There are a total of 7 Crests to collect in Hollow Knight: Silksong. Crests allow you to equip your Tools and Skills in the available slots, giving you different fighting styles and builds to consider.
Here is an overview of all of the available Crests and their locations:
- Hunter Crest: Available by default as this is the starting Crest.
- Reaper Crest: At the Chapel of the Reaper in Greymoor.
- Wanderer Crest: At the Chapel of the Wanderer in Bonegrave, Moss Grotto.
- Beast Crest: At the Chapel of the Beast southeast of Hunter's March, Deep Docks.
- Witch Crest: Complete Rite of Rebirth and Infestation Operation wishes.
- Architect Crest: At the Chapel of the Architect above the Twelfth Achitect NPC in the Underworks.
- Shaman Crest: At the Ruined Chapel after meeting the Shaman in Act 3.

Obtained at the Chapel of the Reaper at Greymoor. You can find the chapel far west of the Halfway Home.

Wanderer Crest
Found in the Bonegrave in the area west of Moss Grotto. You'll need a Simple Key to unlock the area.

Beast Crest
Obtained by defeating the Savage Beastfly boss inside the Beast Chapel of The Hunter's March area.

Witch Crest
Complete the Rite of Rebirth and Infestation Operation wishes. Give Yarnaby the Steel Spines to activate a cutscene and obtain the Crest as a reward.

Obtained by purchasing the Architect's Key from the Twelfth Architect and unlocking the gate above her room in the Underworks.

Architect Crest Location and Best Build
Shaman Crest
Obtained in the Ruined Chapel after meeting the Shaman during Act 3. This requires Silk Soar (Super Jump), as it’s the only way to reach the hidden area beyond the Shamans.

How to Upgrade Crests
Obtain Memory Lockets to Unlock More Slots
To unlock more slots for your Crests, you will need to gather Memory Lockets, which can be obtained through various ways, like picking up a white glowing item you see on the ground or through merchants.
How to Get the Vesticrest
Speak with Eva at Weavenest Atla, Moss Grotto
You can get the Vesticrest when you speak with Eva at Weavenest Atla in Moss Grotto. Note that you need to play the Needolin to unlock the door leading to the area.
The Vesticrest provides two extra slots to equip tools which remain equipped regardless of your currently equipped crest.

Equip While On a Bench
Hornet can change crests while resting at any bench for free.
Open up your menu and input the command on the bottom left corner of the screen to open up your list of crests. Tools can be assigned to multiple crests, and will be retained after switching.

What Are Crests?
Changes Hornet's Moveset and Effects
Crests are a type of equipment that allows you to change Hornet's moveset. This can range from allowing you to poke enemies from a much further distance to having a running uppercut attack to deal with aerial enemies.
This lets players have varied moveset that cater towards their preferred playstyle.
Lets You Equip Tools
Aside from allowing the player to change their moveset, Crests are also needed to use your tools. Each crests have a different number of slots in which you slot in your tools to use them.
The type of slots you can equip tools with also changes depending on the crest you have.
