A Vassal Lost is a Steel Wish in Hollow Knight: Silksong. Read on to see a full walkthrough to completing the side quest, rewards, how to start and the location of the three resting sites.

How to Start A Vassal Lost
Steel Soul Exclusive Quest
This wish, and the hidden area where it can be found is only available in Steel Soul Mode. Players will have to either complete the game once, or enter a code in the extras menu to unlock this gamemode.
Steel Soul Mode Guide and How to Unlock
Speak to Steel Seer Zi at Blasted Steps
Head to the breakable wall in the right area of the Blasted Steps. In Steel Soul Mode, this secret area can extend deeper into a second room where players can speak to Steel Seer Zi to start the wish.
How to Complete A Vassal Lost
Investigate the Three Resting Sites
At the start of the wish, Zi will ask Hornet to investigate several resting sites to figure out where its Vassal has ended up. There are three locations throughout Pharloom that Hornet has to investigate. Return to Zi after investigating all resting sites to complete the quest.
Resting Site Locations
Bone Bottom Resting Site

The first resting site can be found at Bone Bottom. From the area you meet Zi in, you can head to the bottomless pit and platform down. Once you reach Bone Bottom, the resting site will be on a ledge to the right.
High Halls Resting Site

Next, players will need to go to the High Halls to investigate the next resting site. This section requires the Clawline to progress. The resting site can be found at the top of the tower areas, which require some platforming to reach.
Putrified Ducts Resting Site

The last resting site can be found at the Putrified Ducts. At the very end of the hallway, wall jump up the hole in the ceiling to land on the pathway leading to the final resting site.
The clues will point Hornet towards a ritual site near Moss Grotto. The quest objectives will update, and Hornet will now have to explore the ritual site at the Bonegrave, and defeat the Summoned Savior.
Defeat the Summoned Savior
Upon reaching the Bonegrave, head past the building and into the hidden pathway. There, you will find Sula, who is currently in the middle of conducting a ritual. This will cause the Summoned Savior to appear, which Hornet must then defeat.
A Vassal Lost Rewards
Receive the Growstone
Completing the wish will reward players with the Growstone. This item works similarly to Shard Bundles, with the difference being that the Growstone replenishes over time. Consuming a Growstone will net the player a good amount of shell shards, allowing them to replenish tools.
