The Sting Shard tool is very effective for this battle due to the boss' large size, which means Moorwing will get hit for the full duration of the trap's AOE attack when it's close by.
The Reaper Crest's slow but stronger moveset is very effective during this fight. The crescent slash move, which replaces Hornet's pogo attack, in particular has wide coverage and can hit the boss' entire body if you use it during its dive attack.
Moorwing Location
At the Edge of Greymoor Before Bellhart (Act 1)
Moorwing is a boss located at the edge of Greymoor during Act 1, right before the Haunted Bellhart. Do note that Moorwing will not spawn during Act 1 if you've done the Lost Flea wish already!
West of Halfway Home (Act 2)
If you were not able to encounter Moorwing during Act 1, Moorwing will return to Greymoor during Act 2. Specifically, west of the Halfway Home. At this point of the game, the Moorwing fight is not required for you to finish since defeating it will not affect the story!

Pogo Off Moorwing When It Dives
When Moorwing swoops down towards you, jump then pogo off its back by slashing downwards while in mid-air to land extra hits. The Reaper Crest changes the pogo attack into a crescent swing that has a wide range that is good at catching the boss when it dives.
Dash Away When Moorwing Pulls Back
When you see Moorwing slightly pull back, dash away before it does its drill attack. You'll lose two hearts if you get caught in its claws!
Sprint Away From The Circle AoE
Sprint away to get out of the range of Moorwing's large circle AoE to avoid getting hit by the saw blades. You will know when it is about to do its AoE attack when Moorwing flips upside down.
Stand Near the Water's Edge to Evade the Circle AOE
You can also run towards the right of the stage and stand near the water's edge during this attack as the sawblades Moorwing summons will harmlessly fall into the water.
Deal Damage with the Sting Shard Tool
The Sting Shard tool can hit the boss for the full duration of its AOE attack due to Morrowing's large size. It's best used when the boss is charging up its saw blade attack or just after it swoops down with its dive attack.
You can purchase the Sting Shard tool from the Forge Daugther for 140 Rosaries and one Craftmetal in the Deep Docks.
Recruit Garmond and Zaza to Join the Fight
In one of the rooms to the West of Greymoor, there is an NPC duo named Garmond and Zaza who can assist you during the Moorwing fight.
After talking to Garmond and Zaza in the room, go to the boss area. Whether you lose or flee, once you have encountered Moorwing, go back to the room where you met the duo to inform them of the boss' location. This will get them to move near the entrance before the Moorwing fight. If you talk to them again, they will offer their assistance in defeating Moorwing.
Keep in mind this is an an optional npc. If you wish to challenge Moorwing by yourself, you can either reject Garmond's offer or proceed to the boss area without talking to the NPCs.
How to Skip Moorwing
Skip the Moorwing Fight by Finding 5 Lost Fleas
After finding 5 Lost Fleas and returning to the Flea Caravan to complete the quest, the caravan will move to where the Moorwing Boss Fight is supposed to be. This will make Moorwing temporarily unavailable, allowing you to immediately progress to Bellhart.
You will also be allowed to ride the caravan directly to Greymoor right after turning in the quest. Once at Greymoor, the caravan will be parked at the boss area, which completely disables the fight.
The Lost Fleas: All Flea Locations
Moorwing May Appear After the Caravan Leaves
If you haven't defeated Moorwing yet, it is possible that Moorwing spawns after the Caravan leaves Greymoor. However, we are currently investigating if this is true.

Dive
Moorwing dives towards Hornet.
Drill Attack
Moorwing pulls back then lunges forward, using its legs to drill at Hornet.
Saw Blade Attack
Moorwing summons saw blades that slice across the arena floor.
AoE attack
Moorwing flips upside down then summons two saw blades that slice in a large circular area.
