The Key of Apostate can be found in the upper left area of a large room in Putrified Ducts.Do note that a few enemies, such as the Barnak and Ductsucker will be encountered in a tight space while going to the item.

How to Get Key of Apostate

Exit to the right of the Memorium to find a long bridge that looks to be connected to nowhere. Use Cling Grip on the wall and jump up together with Faydown Cloak to get to the upper wall. Destroy the breakable wall, as it connects to Putrified Ducts.

Enter Putrified Ducts and keep heading right, avoiding enemies. Exit to the next room.

Upon entering the vertical area, head straight down. In the underground area, there will be a tunnel going to the left.

Take the tunnel and keep heading left. You will run into enemies that will grab you when you touch their tongue. Once you get past them, the Key will be in a cage to the left of the room.

Once you retrieve the Key of Apostate, you can unlock the door found above the room where the Bellway and Bench are found. This unlocks the lower areas of The Slab, where you can combat the First Sinner.

The Key of Apostate unlocks the door in the upper area of The Slab. This room contains a Mask Shard at the very top, but you will need to activate a mechanism that releases rotating spikes for you to get to the item.
