Volatile Flintbeetles is a Hunt Wish in Hollow Knight: Silksong. Read on to see a full walkthrough to completing the Volatile Flintbeetles side quest and its objectives.

How to Start Volatile Flintbeetles
Found at the Wishwell in Moss Grotto
Players can start and complete Volatile Flintbeetles at the Wishwell in Bell Bottom, located in Moss Grotto. This is a Hunt wish, which tasks Hornet with tracking and hunting enemies.

Do remember that all Flintbeetles are located in The Marrow, and the first one you will encounter is located on the leftmost part close to Bone Bottom Camp as indicated in the map. The Flintbeetle will be hanging on top of a rock and you will have to strike it to bring it down.

The second Flintbeetle is located on the very top area of The Marrow, above an abandoned building that requires you to go around the area via platforming. If you have saved one of the Fleas here, this is the same location but the Flintbeetle is sticking on top of the rocks.

The final Flintbeetle is located on the right-side area of The Marrow, near the red flower bunches that you can Pogo Jump on and near Skarrgard, a miniboss further to the right. The area also has a shortcut unlocked after exploring from the left and unlocking a platform mechanism above the prison.
How to Find Volatile Flintbeetles
Look for Flintbeetle Dung as a Hint
The locations of the three Flintbeetles will not be revealed to the player, so the intended way to proceed through the quest is to look for Flintbeetle Dung scattered cross The Marrow that Hornet can interact with to locate their scent trail.
Be fast though, as the scent trail eventually disappears and you will have to go back to the last dung location and interact with it again to regain the trail.
Volatile Flintbeetles Rewards
Quest Rewards a Memory Locket
Completing this quest rewards the player with one Memory Locket that can be used to open up one of the notches on your Crest. Use it wisely!
