Cinder is used in performing Incantations by the Cauldron in the Crossroads. These can achieve several effects varying from unlocking merchants and tools, to enhancing healing mechanics, and even augmenting certain boon-related gameplay aspects.

Cinder is also used to unlock some Arcana Cards in your Altar of Ashes. These cards offer semi-permanent buffs that remain active as long as you have them equipped. The number of cards you can equip is determined by your Grasp.
